  • @maman my app is saying Thursday, because that’s when I signed up. But I’ll only have done 6 days of dieting then as I signed up on Thursday evening so I had thought it would be Friday morning to weigh in 🤔. Suppose it doesn’t matter really.

I’m not a group member, just online, so I guess it’s up to me and I better just pick one of those days and stick to it going forward.

Morning all, it's wet and windy again this morning and had rain overnight which woke me up a few times.  Assume it's to do with the new storm.  I'm just glad it's not as bad as the last one and hoping it's not as bad for others.

Your food looks good @Bluegreen143 with plenty of variety.  I think I'd go with a Friday morning WI if I were you rather than a Thursday evening - after all if you were going to a group you'd choose which day you'd go not be told you have to go on a particular day!

Hope the weather is kind enough @bubbs for you to be able to go and get lots of bargains at the Company Shop but please keep safe and don't take any chances.

It's a shame you can't use your new saucepans @maman with the floor being started today.  Any idea how long it's going to be before you'll be able to walk on it?  Will the plumbers be able to what's necessary if the floor is being worked on or will that have to wait?  Looks like things could be a bit awkward in that respect!  How long do you think it will before before everything is finished and you can actually use your new extension?

Hoping to get on with making my dress today as not really done much the last few days.  So far I've got the bodice sewn together, the straps made and tacked into place.  Next stage is to attach interfacing to the facing pieces and then attach to the bodice.  At that point I'll be able to see whether it's actually going to fit me but at the moment it's looking like it might be a bit too tight!  It would be so much easier if dress making patterns were based on the same sizes as shop bought clothes!  I think the patterns are based on sizing from the 50s so as I am a size 12 in shop bought clothes I'm actually making a size 16 on the pattern!  Feels wrong somehow!!!

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs on toast - P; HEB
    L - stuffed peppers - HEA2; P; S; F
    D - beef stew, mash - P; S; F (stew from freezer)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

PS. Just picked up my car from the garage - was a bit more expensive than expected as it needed a new battery!  Still better to get it fitted now rather than having to call out breakdown when it won't start when I'm in the SM carpark!

    Afternoon all 😁

We did have some rain but not like last time and the water is dropping thankfully.

Maman , No one has flood insurance now as all the companies stopped it after January 😫😫 the problem is the not knowing, The rd is now open as long as people drive with care.

The warning from EA has just come through it has been downgraded, not a threat to life anymore just flooding , The flood  gates are open so hopefully any rain we have now will just go downstream,

The next problem will be burst pipes as it's set to freeze tonight and it is very cold anyway with all the water about 😢

Yes we went company shop, i got a bargain of all bargains 😁😁😁 500g 5% beef mince 65p!! Fantastic bargains as usual from the Company Shop @bubbs, especially the 5% mince. 👍

If I were you @Bluegreen143, I'd WI on a Friday before breakfast. That's because I save my syns for weekends starting on Friday evening. I always have the same breakfast and wear the same clothes on WI days but that wouldn't apply at home.

Hope you got on well with the sundress @joedenise. It seems crazy to be thinking of wearing one at the moment! 🤣 When I used to do dressmaking, I had a few patterns that I knew fitted me and used those regularly. Prima magazine used to do good ones but I don't think they exist any more.

I'm hoping the work will be finished except for snagging by the end of next week.🤞You're right that the plumber can't work while the floor is laid. ☹️

When we got up this morning I (jokingly) asked DH if we were going to IKEA again today. In the end, the flooring guy turned up at midday to do the screed so we decided to get out of his way. IKEA do salmon for £3 on a Wednesday so we went there after all. 🤣 It wasn't a huge portion but enough and excellent for the money.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- salmon, edamame beans (P), mash (F), green beans (S)
    D- JP (F), tuna (P), salad and pickles (S)
Syns - sauce on salmon? anything in mash? LTL mayo 1

  • An academic question about syns in the mash/sauce anyway since you didn’t use many syns today Maman!

My DH had to go to IKEA after work to pick up an order today (things needed for the children’s rooms’ refurb - they are getting separate rooms done in time for their birthdays, as they were sharing one and using the other as a playroom). Apparently he had a cheeky 85p hot dog 🤣. Wonder how many syns in that?!

I think I will weigh in on Friday before breakfast each week. Like you, I’m likely to use more syns at the weekends!

Morning all, weather is looking a bit better this morning - I can actually see some blue sky!  I'm going to get the door mats washed this morning and hopefully they be dry so I can get them back down as don't have any spare ones so they're really needed when it rains.

Didn't get any of my dress done yesterday after all as the robot vacuum/floor washer we bought was delivered so we ended up mapping the rooms with it which seemed to take ages and then vacuumed throughout and washed the hard floor areas, which is most of the bungalow apart from living room and bedrooms.

Need to go shopping again today as we've decided to go away for the weekend in the motorhome again to try out the new lithium battery DH has fitted to it.  Hope it works as well as it's supposed to so that we can at least have some electric heating!  So the dress won't get worked on again today probably with having to get the van ready.

DH has smoked a piece of the salmon we got the other day so is going to get that sliced later.  We'll take some with us to have while we're away.  Most of it will get frozen is usable amounts.

    Today's plan:

    B - mushroom omelette - P; S
    L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles - HEA2; HEB; S
    D - one pot chicken biryani - P; S; F (a recipe from an old SW mag which I haven't tried before)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - stollen bites 1 each (I think)

    Have a good day everyone.
