maman said:Good luck with reining in the syns @joedenise. I'm hoping for a decent week on plan. I'm going to Bournemouth on Wednesday so will have lunch out but I'm hoping to find something SW friendly.
It's dry and bright here today too but no washing as DD1 is still doing it for me.😍
I'm really mean with the meat for Bolognese. I don't have a huge SC but I reckon on making 4 meals at a time (8 portions) with a few tbsps taken out for me to have on a JP like I did today. I use 250g of mince plus a few handfuls of lentils and all the veg. I could probably get more into the SC but I tend to portion the meat up that size for the freezer as it's just right for Bolognese, savoury mince or making burgers. The meals are 400g (which is roughly the size of a tin or the average ready meal) and I often add extra mushrooms when I'm reheating.
Excuse scruffy SC. I will get a new one when I get around to it!😁
DH changed the battery in the motorhome recently from Lead Acid to Lithium and reading the instructions it says it needs to be reduced down below 50% 3 times before using it normally so we've been out sitting in it this afternoon and been making cups of tea, watching TV, had the fan heater on, followed by an oil filled radiator and it still wasn't going down that quickly so he bought out our old coffee machine and put that on and used that to make a few coffees. Finally got it down to 49% so came back indoors again after turning everything off! Just need to leave it to charge back up again now! Hopefully they'll be a bit of sun tomorrow for the solar panels to do their job!
We decided to change our meals round today so had our main meal at lunchtime and we'll have the small portions of beef stew with a bit of mash this evening.
Lentil and veg soup has been made. We'll have some for lunch tomorrow and I'll portion up the rest of it for the freezer.
Just sitting down with a pre dinner 0% G&T!

Morning all, the sun is shining so at least our motorhome battery should get charged back up again!
I've hung the bedding back out on the line as they didn't quite dry yesterday and couldn't get it on the airer as the rest of the washing also needed to be finished off. Still need to empty that and fold and put away but will do that shortly once I've had my coffee!
Need to pop out to the farm shop this morning for some more carrots as used more yesterday than planned so none left for tonight's salad.
Today's plan:
B - toasted cheese sandwich; pickled onions - HEA2; HEB; S
L - lentil and veg soup - P; S; F
D - LO roasted gammon, air fried potato cubes; Moroccan style salad - P; S; F; 1.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - 10g raisons 1.5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all from a baltic central Scotland! Went to the loo during the night and the heating had clicked on it was that cold. It would seem the forecasted snow may be passing us by thankfully. It’s a beautiful sunny, frosty morning and I’ll get out for a walk later.
I use the same quantities of mince as you @maman for bolognaise, chilli, etc and I freeze in individual portions. I usually make meatballs from scratch each time but thinking I may make a huge batch and freeze them too. We like our meatballs small 🤣 it looks like you’re eating loads!
Apart from a walk think it’ll just be a pottering day keeping cosy.Today’s food:
B - fruit and yoghurt
L - lentil soup, toasted pitta HEB, smoked ham and salad
D - salmon, new potatoes, carrots, broccoli, sweetcorn
Syns - yoghurt 0.5, salad cream 1.5, may use 3.5 and HEXA for hot choc before bed
Have a good day all and stay warm!1 -

Have got a savoury mince in the SC now. Have to say I'm a bit more generous with the mince though - I've used a 400g pack plus loads of veg. Normally I'd use half a pack to make a bolognaise so definitely less meaty than usual!
@maman - I noticed in Aldi that they are doing a huge 6.5 litre SC for £24.99 at the moment. Would that be too big to replace your current one? My DD2 used to have one that size when she was still with her ex husband and 5 kids!
Weather's not too bad here at 8 degrees but forecast to drop down to 3 or 4 by the end of the week. Keep warm those of you in the North where the cold weather has already reached you.

A new week and no weight loss to report. I have been using up things with short fridge lives, plus heads not fully engaged yet. I am, however, starting to think more about food in SW terms.
5/6 degrees this morning, very nice as was at dog field while it was sunny. ⁵Brunch of coffee and bacon & egg roll (9 S for the roll!) at NT property. H oxtail soup (4S) just to warm up and keep me going 'til 7pm. Cold meats, salads, pickles, but have a scotch egg and a little prepared salad to use up, that will clear the fridge out.
Meal plan and online to be completed tomorrow for Wed. Really low on free snack fruit until then

It's always difficult when you've got food that needs to be eaten up @maddiemay but you'll get there. 😊
Thanks for the heads up on the SC @joedenise but I don't think I'd need/want such a large one. A direct replacement for mine is £22 in Sainsbury's/Habitat at the moment but I've also noticed a good deal on the Morphy Richards sear and stew. Anyone got experience of those?🤔
I like my meatballs quite small too @Jellybaby and I always batch cook them. I generally do a tray of about 40 and open freeze them.
It's been cold here today too but I suppose 10 degrees is tropical compared with Scotland @beanielou. It's meant to get colder later in the week here but the sun should be shining. 🥶
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), fried LO potatoes and veg (S,F), beetroot (S)
D- sausage casserole with penne (P,S,F)
Syns- BGTY sausages 21 -
No experience of the sear and stew but it's something I'd certainly consider if I was replacing my SC. Must be so much easier when you want to brown the meat before slow cooking. They're usually quite expensive I think. What price have you seen it for?

It's this one @joedenise but reading the details, it's not suitable for an induction hob.☹

That's a good price - shame it's not induction hob friendly. Wouldn't be any use to me either!1
