A complete farce. I applied for my account and physical card on 23rd October, I'm not tech savvy so wanted to use a card. This didn't arrive until 26th November. I used the qualifying spend on the day it arrived only to be told I had not met the deadline for the qualifying spend.
I have been penalised for the delivery delay which was no fault of mine. When I disputed I was told I could have used the digital app... why would i order a card and waste plastic if I was able to do this?
I know someone else who had a very similar issue and they were given the £30 as a goodwill gesture???
It took 2 days for them to get back to me with the same response.
Customer service at its absolute wo

Despite your unwillingness to do so the fact is that you could have made your qualifying spend before the deadline. That said I can understand your frustration, see my response above.

It being unlikely that I'll want to use a travel money card for the purpose for which it is intended in the immediate future, I decided to withdraw my balance.

At 21:49 on 28 November I requested a withdrawal to my current account.

At 21:50 I received an email saying they'd had to hold the payment because they needed further details, specifically:

    • The full name of payee (including middle names) and how you know them
    • The reason you're sending money to this payee
    • A copy of an invoice or screenshots of any messages to show why the payment is needed
    • What you use your Zing account for

and warning they may have to reject this payment if they didn't hear back from me (by email) in the next 3 working days.

I was trying to decide how best to respond, but then received a further email at 22:29 confirming that the payment had been approved and  processed, apologising for the inconvenience and thanking me for my understanding.

The money arrived in my current account early the following day 29 November.

I'm happy with the  Zing account overall, and would have no qualms about using the card if and when the opportunity arises.

  • Been 2 months now since i applied. Absolutely shocking service from Zing.
