  • It should be noted that even though it’s owned by HSBC, their £85000 FSCS Protection DOESN’T apply to this account.

    It’s just an e-money account.

I think most people will just open for free money and referrals

I've got as far as downloading the app and doing all the verification stuff. However the app is saying "We need to review your application" and has been since 6:30am this morning!
Mine is the same and when I contacted them they said up to 3 days to very documents. It is a "prepaid debit card", so they are not exposed to any debt?

Why does it take 2-3 days to very a prepaid debit card? You can only spend the amount you load onto the card?
  • I just topped up my Amazon account with £5 credit here and it worked perfectly - useful to get the spend sorted asap!
  • All sorted very quickly and spend complete. Here's to a few free beers.

    Cheers

It's an identity check not a credit check. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want people setting up cards in your name/address even if they were pre-paid accounts?

I joined today and transferred money from my Lloyds account and all straight forward.  I then via Apple Pay made a payment to British Gas online for £5.50 and all went through.

I then did a refer from my Zing account to a friend and this occasion was not via mse and that way I should refer an additional £30 and my friend will once they have met the conditions etc.
This! I'm sure I can find no end of friends that want £30 free. I'm confident I will make the maximum £600.
I hope they're not limiting MSE to £600 🤣 they've probably had thousands of people signing up.

You may have misunderstood, outside of the MSE offer they have a refer a friend programme, You can refer up to 20 friends and earn £600.
  • Topped up my Amazon account with £5 using the virtual card on the 23rd, and received an email and text message on the 24th to confirm that I've qualified for the bonus 😁
