Not had the heating on yet (coastal NW England), it's 12-14 usually in the back of the house and >17 in the front whilst the sun is up and so even if it was turned on the thermostat would turn it off.

No idea- it comes on when it’s cold and off when it’s warm

We are in a position that we don’t  particularly have to worry about spending an extra £10-30 a month when required.
Yes, same here. It costs whatever it costs to keep comfy. I didn't realise so many people kept such detailed records.
Smart meters do the record keeping for you.

Full 13m worth of detailed use if use the right apps  is mh understanding.

Stored on the meter yes, but the likes of N3rgy will also store the data on their servers if you are using an app like Hugo or Loop so data can go back further on those services.
N3rgy has had to temporarily close to new domestic customers - the new account sign up page implies fallen foul of a govt regulator (Ofgem , Information etc - who knows -  as doesnt say - I certainly wasn't a fan of their open by default sharing policy so never tried them.  Other apps maybe the same privacy wise.)

Used a little bit from a portable heater on a couple of chilly days, all its usage was either during negative or sub 5p pricing on Agile, the bill that covered the usage was £6 less than last month when I used no heating at all.

Weather has warmed up again now though, was back down to t-shirt yesterday.

280 kWh from the 1st Oct. Heating and hot water. I mostly put the heating on in the morning. I try to grit my teeth in the evening and not put it on unless pretty cold.

Sign up for Loop or Hugo and you will end up with an N3rgy account, even though you can't access it directly.

Not aware of the open by default sharing policy they have? You have always had to give and renew consent for 3rd parties such as Loop/Hugo to connect?

Hi - this is an air to air heat pump that serves a single room - basically an air conditioner with a reverse gear so it can be used for heating. As opposed to a whole house air to water system that uses radiators.

I'm thinking of doing the same for my downstairs, undersized for cold snaps as I've a stove to take up the slack. Upstairs I've got an electric heated towel rail which only goes on when I have spare solar or cheap on Agile along with MHRV and don't tend to heat the bedroom which seems pointless when you have a duvet and the house is generally quite warm. It's just under 19 downstairs at the moment and 20 here in my office.

What make/rating do you have and how have you found it?

All I can say is that the majority of replies can't be from men who are married to a wife who feels the cold extremely ! We have used ~ 1000kwh of gas so far this month for heating ,hot water and the gas hob. Based on Summer usage ,this implies ~ 700kwh for heating !!
Yes ,I have bought 'er indoors a heated wrap - but she still creeps out when I'm not looking and turns the thermostat up !

I have two of these units:

    https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/iqool-smart12hp/electriq-iqoolsmart12hp-air-conditioner

They work extremely well at both heating and cooling. I control them using Home Assistant and external thermostats and they maintain a very consistent temperature this way, I can't vouch for the built in controls.

Also very economical, not sure how to measure it but I think the claims of using about one third of the energy of a regular electric heater for the same output is realistic.

They are quite bulky - about the size of a large storage heater - not an issue for me.

They are also quite noisy, particularly when heating. I've got used to it and they don't wake me up if they come on in the night even though I am a light sleeper. I wouldn't listen to the radio when they are running though. There's also a fair bit of noise outside which could be an issue.

If the size and/or noise are an issue then a split wall mounted unit might be a better bet.

In summary I'd certainly recommend them, just be aware of the caveats around size and noise.
