October always seems to be the "funny" month where there is a big difference between different people in different types of housing and in different parts of the country using very different amounts of energy for heating!
So, where do we all stand so far?
For me:
300 kwhs used so far
Probably about 750 by the end of the month?
(Gas central heating, 40s, North of England, wfh most days, semi-detached old house)

None.3 bedroom terrace, South of EnglandHad the woodburner on for a test but wasn't actually needed.Probably none by the end of the month, but maybe a weekend fire if the temperature drops..0

Tricky to work out for us because of a right spread of various types of heating.
Fire has been lit a few times - weekend evenings, mostly
Approx 230kWh gas (with a balance over that for hot water)
A small amount of electricity - probably 25-30kWh used on the extraordinarily "green" Agile day on Sunday and into Monday morning (difficult to pick out just the heating use amongst everything else we did - and it took the place of gas heating during that time.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Our billing period runs from the 21st to the 21st of the month so we have just had our October bill.
We have used 160kWh of gas but some of that will be for hot water and cooking.

All electric here, Midlands, detached bungalow with storage heaters. No heating needed just yet so far this month as I'm hunkering down in the kitchen (warmest room) until it goes cold. Looking at the forecast, I think I can hold out until the end of the month before any storage heaters need to go on.
63 kWh day
35 kWh night0 -
We have used 439.24 kWh so far since 1st October. But that would include anytime we have used the oven ( just the hobs ) and everytime the hot water taps are turned on for washing, showers etc0

Seems like a lot of people haven't turned on the heating at all?! Our house would have been about 10-12 degrees at some points without any heating this month. We've not had it on much, but I couldn't sit at my desk on work if it was under 12 degrees! And it wouldn't be good for the house either in terms of damp, etc.2

Not just October, billing period 20th Sept. to 19th Oct.364kWh of gas. That does include hot water (cylinder in airing cupboard) and cooking/water boiling on a gas hob. Heating on for a couple of hours some mornings. That will not increase much when it becomes colder because it's supplemented by a nice warming coal fire.0
