Good luck. It can often take 2 days to actually access your app. Sometimes it's closed "for maintenance and upgrading" and sometimes it simply doesn't recognise your PIN (and I know my PIN perfectly well!)Theleak250 said:I have signed up, waiting for confirmation the account is open. It says it can take two days.0 -

Absolutely not worth trying. I have had a complete nightmare with NatWest. Their app is frequently inaccessible. I cannot make payments over about £500 using the app so I have to use a card reader. I frequently input my passcode on the app and it is not recognised. Trying to make an urgent payment for a bill took me three days, two hours on the phone and a visit to the bank in person - and that's not for the first time and I've only been banking with them for a year. Don't go there. I'm switching my account with them now ... my stress levels cannot handle NatWesst another moment longer.VXman said:I missed the last Nat West switch offer due to a error with the switch process. I did manage the Ulster and RBS though. Is it worth trying anyway?
I appreciate you haven't had a positive experience with NatWest, but I've never had an issue with them personally. I've had a few accounts with them for years which have operated like clockwork without issues, including receiving a few switch incentives where I've been eligible. Definitely would recommend you move your main banking elsewhere if you're unhappy though.

I’ve said elsewhere on the forum, that I’ve been with NatWest for 49 years and can count on one hand any problems I’ve had and have been put right almost immediately. Perhaps you were just unlucky?PRAISETHESUN said:Buzzer99 said:

Simplest switch ever. Took less than 2 weeks from entering my details and receiving the money. The only slight issue was Nat West not recognising my Chase as a proper account, so I had to switch my Monzo instead. I already had a Nat West account and have never had any issues with the app. Easiest £180 in my life!!Buzzer99 said:

Same here - although I'm a relative newbie at 20 years. During those years I have made the grand total of one complaint, which was resolved very quickly. During those 20 years I have worked for a number of other banks and have opened accounts elsewhere for various reasons, but I've always kept my Natwest account as my 'main' current account. I think one problem in 20 years is a good track record!DasTechniker said:

During my early share trading days, the main method of buying and selling was through a ‘traditional’ stockbroker who you phoned up and paid by cheque. This afforded me the opportunity to open various accounts with different banks to see how their customer service worked. I’m going back a long time but I seem to remember that Lloyds was good, but First Direct had just started and just pipped them. But, when all was said and done, I opened an extra account at NatWest and never had any regrets.TheBanker said:

Any suggestions for good direct debits to pay to other accounts to meet the £2 threshold but is in effect paying money to yourself?0

I've been using a weekly Moneybox DD on my NatWest account and a weekly Plum DD on my RBS account for years without any issuess71hj said:Any suggestions for good direct debits to pay to other accounts to meet the £2 threshold but is in effect paying money to yourself?
