It had seemed like there was a glitch with Natwest switching Chase accounts but I'm wondering if it's because we (the people encountering this problem) are saying we don't have a debit card with that Chase account - I can't speak for others but had assumed that the card was specific to my original Chase account only.HillStreetBlues said:
Just put in your card number in, as long as you have one Chase account left it will default to that account.s71hj said:I'm wondering if the reason I'm getting the fault is I ticked no debit card for the chase current account as it was my spare one not my original one but in fact all Chase accounts "share" the same debit card but have different account numbers.0 -

On this next window you will see the 16 digit code for the debit card.I had to do this tonight with the Coop bank.I had read your problem so it seemed a wise thing to do!

The Chase account I'm switching was only opened today so (probably over cautiously) I've decided I'll leave it overnight before I do the switch! Will see if it resolves the problem with Natwest then or if it's another sort of problem Natwest have with Chase.luverlyjuberly said:HillStreetBlues said:

I think it is another issue as I've been putting my card in. The issue is NatWest thinking the Chase sort code is for a NatWest account.s71hj said:

Even if you gave the main account by mistake (the one for debit cards payments) for the switch, once switch happened the spare one would then become the main one with the debit card linked to that.luverlyjuberly said:HillStreetBlues said:

Unfortunately based on previous post to yours this isn't the issue, Chase and Nationwide still appear to be incompatible, though I will try again later myselfHillStreetBlues said:

I have just been notified that my switch has completed. It was so quick and easy. switched to an existing Nat West account. No money or direct debits etc on that account (Monza). Will transfer £1250 in - although I do that anyway each month.
Is it really that easy - will I get my £180?0 -
Yes and leave it there 24 hours and log in on the mobile app. Easy money. I downgraded the account at once as soon as they paid out.VXman said:I have just been notified that my switch has completed. Update on the issue switching from Chase. This morning I was able to complete the application to switch from a Chase account without the error message. My Debt free diary

Absolutely not worth trying. I have had a complete nightmare with NatWest. Their app is frequently inaccessible. I cannot make payments over about £500 using the app so I have to use a card reader. I frequently input my passcode on the app and it is not recognised. Trying to make an urgent payment for a bill took me three days, two hours on the phone and a visit to the bank in person - and that's not for the first time and I've only been banking with them for a year. Don't go there. I'm switching my account with them now ... my stress levels cannot handle NatWesst another moment longer.VXman said:I missed the last Nat West switch offer due to a error with the switch process. I did manage the Ulster and RBS though. Is it worth trying anyway?0
