  • Morning all! Welcome to the newbies, you'll like it here, it's very friendly :hello:

Hugs to those who need them <<hug>>

Well having successfully fought off the various illnesses and diseases floating around over Christmas I have now succumbed to a cold  so our plans for New Year have gone pear shaped. Actually I'm secretly quite happy about it, I'm not one for mad parties etc any more and OH is openly cheering and looking forward to being tucked up in bed by 10 with his book :rotfl:

Was feeling pretty blah yesterday but better today anyway so I've already got a loaf in the BM, done the ironing, yay! and have plans to finally dispose of all the bits and pieces left in the fridge in some way or another (bubble and squeak yet again methinks).

Have a great NYE everyone, don't drink too much, ha ha :rotfl:

    Morning all!

Still knackered today, but am chuffed because yesterday I managed to do an inventory of the food cupboards and now they are in some kind of order too! So that's one less thing to do. More cleaning, clearing etc today, might move into the spare room and try and do some more in there, depending on how I'm feeling.

Not up to much tonight, I'm another who hates NYE parties, yuck! We are having a DVD marathon with a bottle of Cava (gift) with some Hotel Chocolat choccies (gift) and then crashing out whenever we want to! OH is ill so he is Mr Pity Party today, although he is working at the moment, so that's kind of a relief!!

Had better go do my dailies, stick the kettle and hot water on and get on with the day... (perhaps)

    Hugs for those who need/want

beemuzed sorry to hear about your DIL's father,

hugs to all those feeling unwell, hope you feel better soon x
Kathy, glad you are feeling better,

Got one load of washing in, and one to do, will hang it out as its blowing, I NEVER do any ironing (there I've said it ) just give everything a good shake as it comes out of machine, and I find it does not need it ;) , life is too short for ironing :D

Got sausage platt for tea with cauli brocoli and leek cheese, and a bottle of something fizzy to see in the new year.

DD's dad bought her a fantastic printer for xmas, does everyting prints off photos from her camera, scans, crops etc, any hoo, we set it up yesterday and no b****y cable to connect it to her laptop so off to currys today to get one. Then would like to go for a walk in the woods, to try to wear little dog out, she hates the fireworks, and will be under a small table in lounge quivering all night

Am waffiling now so will get on, will pop back later xx

oh I meant to ask a bit of advice, I am back at work on Wednesday and DD not back at school till following Mon, she is keen to stay at home, she normally goes to her nans during holidays, but would rather be at home now.
She is 13, I work literally at the top of the road and could be home in 2 mins, do you think it would be ok to leave her ? is there a legal age you can leave them alone ?

    Thanks

    Sue

    Morning All

Slept in this morning to gone 9am, it was needed as I felt very tired and heady yesterday, I wonder if it was something to do with the malibu and coke I had on Saturday...? ;):D

Fired up with enthusiasm by all today's posts I have my WM whirring away, and I must tackle the ironing today as it must be weeks since I got the ironing board out  DH kindly suggested if I would like to hire someone to help with the ironing, how embarrassing as I only work mornings so I really do have no excuses. So this New Year there is going to be a lot of changes in chez peony: washing up after every meal, keeping on top of washing and ironing and menu/grocery planning.

Welcome to all the Newbies, it is a fun place to be.

Hugs to all those who have had upsetting news.

I am another one who doesn't celebrate the New Year, invariably I give up and go to bed as I'd rather be up early on the 1st to get going on my New Year's Resolutions. Also, the TV shows aren't really my thing. What I do always watch or record is the New Year's Day concert from Vienna, I love listening to the waltzes, ever since I was young.

Well I must be off to get going with washing up.

    Take care all.

Hugs to the poorly ones today.

Hi to all the newbies - welcome, you'll like it here.

Had a lovely lie in this morning so feeling quite refreshed. Went to friends yesterday for the afternoon and tea but we were all drooping come 8pm so came home for an early night.

Had a great time yesterday morning, planned all our vouchers we had left for various supermarkets and did £60 worth of shopping for £30 - this included a new pack of undies for all of us, fresh stuff we needed this week, a months supply of cat food, loo rolls and pasta/rice for the cupboard. I like it when DH gets on board with this money saving lark. We're off to Homebase this morning as we got £24 of vouchers from them yesterday, need a new mop bucket and some sort of sealant for the bathroom ceiling, will try and pick some nice pots up for Mothers day whilst I'm there for a project I have planned.

We're another family that plan to have a night in - we're having a board game and Wii marathon with the last of the christmas nibbles and some roast veg that needs using, will make some banana muffins this afternoon to get another portion of fruit into them too!

Hope you all have a lovely day/evening - what ever you're upto and hope that 2008 is everything you want it to be.
