J_B said:Thanks for all the messages - too many to quote!<<That's because you needed to have transferred the data to your phone earlier>>I haven't ever done this but I'm fairly sure that the timeline history used to be visible on my phone<< Does it work using the Browser on your phone?>>I use Firefox on my phone .... just tried that and it says "Your browser is no longer supported, please upgrade your browser" then invites me to download Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, which is most bizarre as I have GC and FF anyway! I pressed on view timeline anyway (I think it said) and it goes to the timeline website and I can see 'year, month, day' as well as 'Today' but it just spins a circle round and round without getting anywhere!<<You should have seen messages such as this one: >>Not seen that and just searched back through my Gmails and ... nothing<<Important: To turn on backup, auto-delete must be off.>>Auto Delete is off but when I tap on my profile picture, there is *no* option to select Timeline, so can't follow those steps.<<Interested in why you have linked to Google India Are you on holiday there?>>How bizarre, not sure where that came from (Never been there, have you?
Cyprus is my preference!) - I just copied and pasted it from my Chrome Bookmarks on my laptop. I've edited it now to .co.uk but it then always goes on to .com when I click on it!
<<What is underneath the overlay? Click the triangle in the left hand corner to remove the overlay>>It's just the Maps main page<<What about Settings? What options are there?>>I opened 'Maps Activity' and in 'History' under 'today' it says 'viewed your timeline' ...I tapped on that and .... Timeline opened ... which is a very complex way of doing something!0 -

Sorry to drag this back up again ....Like everyone else (?) I've had an email sayingKeep your Timeline? Decide by 18 May 2025However, sadly, it tells me to tap on my profile photo and select 'Timeline' but as in my photo in post #3 back on page 1, I can't see Timeline so can't tick the right box to do whatever it is that they want.I'm sure there's no way to contact Google to ask for help (is there) so does anyone else have any bright ideas?I've tried uninstalling updates but it soon comes back to the new version and I'm stuffed!

J_B Sorry, can't help with your ongoing issues. But following the changes on my account a few days ago, Timeline is now completely unusable. For months, it had been creating mysterious visits for me overnight when I was in bed, but rarely creating any visits during the day when I was actually on the move. I was having to manually edit the errors and omissions. But since the change to device storage, it no longer creates any visits whatsoever, and it won't save any that I add manually. Reinstalled the app, but no joy. I hope you have better luck with it.1

Press "You" button at bottom on main Maps screen , then on You screen , scroll screen up to get to bottom of page, under the Visited section ? - Do you even have a Visited section

sectionI have the visited section which is very accurate, but no option to view 'Timeline'!Now, when I open Maps it says "Timeline is changing. Keep Your Visits" then in blue below "Choose settings" but when I tap on that .... nothing happens!
