I got more fed up with people saying 'your still here then' when it was fairly obvious that she had not been born!
Well, both mine were early, DS1 5 weeks early induction and DS2 7 week early em c section. After I got out from hospital with DS2 I was meeting people on the street who never even knew I was pregnant! A very sick pregnancy where I lost almost 2 stone (put it back on again pretty soon) and the way my bump was, you couldn't tell. Plus I was so sick I did very little except sleep. I have a pic taken 2 weeks before he was born and the only sign I was pregnant is the bottom button on my jacket is undone.
I missed out on the last wee while when he was mine alone.
So enjoy it and tell those folk who ask if he is still there, that yes, he is, he will be born when he is ready and strong and healthy!0 -

Also, advice needed - was a bit bad over the hols and did a couple of quick wipe rounds of the bathroom with bleach spray with no gloves. My hands are so nicked (which is horrible when I use the microfibre cloth - it keeps catching, eurgh!) and my nails are all peeled down on the top layers. Any suggestions on how I can fix my hands & peeling nails? I'll definitely need to use gloves from now on!!

RUBBER GLOVES!!!!
The best thing is vaseline! If you don't have a pair of soft gloves you can wear, get some. Or if you have those thin gloves for when you dye hair or prepare food etc, use them. Slavver you hands in vaseline, pop the thin gloves over so it doesn't get everywhere, then put on your rubber gloves and do the dishes. The hot water helps the vaseline to melt in. Then wash it off, rub in some hand cream and every night before bed run vaseline into your hands nails and cuticles.
It does work, i can grow my nails longish now!0 -
Done the shopping and I, too am a tad shocked like lil-me that the sun is actually out! Will put the bedding quickly on the line to dry instead of keeping it on the airer in the kitchen. List is coming on nicely.

Afternoon everyone!
It was morning still when I sat down to catch up on the 13 pages of chatting since I was on here before new year!
Sorry to hear that some of your new year's haven't started off as well as planned. Hugs to you all!
The reason I've not been around, is we had a planning meeting on New Year's Eve, then I went to a party at my upstairs neigbours (even though I was ill with flu), then on NYD I was recovering whilst still nursing OH who gave me the flu in the first place. January 2nd I had to take my car in to the garage (cost £241 in the end to replace the water pump and tighten the cambelt) and do my planning all day. 3rd January I had my first day as a proper teacher (rather than a student teacher), and yesterday I was so tired when I got home, that I crashed on the sofa for a couple of hours, and we didn't eat dinner til gone 9pm! It was also OH's 42nd birthday yesterday, so I had to do the dinner, cos it would've been unfair to make him cook on his birthday.
So far today, I've watched Saturday Kitchen, cuddled up with the cat, caught up with this thread, eaten some leftover curry for brunch, and read over the dates for school things for the rest of the term. Eek! I've got my first parents' evening on 17th January!
Apart from doing loads of washing, food shopping and some hoovering, flying has been fairly non-existent with us both being so busy and ill.
It was nice to catch up with a few people who has been AWOL and to hear that babies and kiddiewinkies are well.
Here's to a year of friendship and support, and the odd bit of flying in between!

The sun's out here too and my windows are gleaming, I'm proud to say. I've done them all - inside and out. It's blowing hard too so I've got 2 washloads on the line and a sofa throw queueing up to go out. I don't expect they'll dry but it saves putting the heating on.
Spent an hour with a market research woman who came knocking just as I'd started the big clean up. What a tip I was in but she didn't seem to care; she had a hole in her socks in anycase so there was no standing on ceremony :rotfl:
Yes, you clucky lot, I'll share the baby news when it happens! She was due to be induced on Monday so she's glad things have started at least. I've no experience of this whatsoever and she's as close as I'll have to a sister and wil be a fab Mum to my neice or nephew.
Anyhow, half hour challenge anyone? I'm going to make the room through there look like a kitchen again. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

Afternoon all back from the shops/bank. Really pleased that I meal planned until my next shop on Thursday as it reduced the bill so well. Only extras I brought were reduced items and toilet rolls on BOGOF which they finally had in.
Kids money safely stashed in their banks to prevent borrowing from me/spending by them.
Thanks so much Lil_me for the remedy link you really are a little gem to all of us. I got some mixture from the pharmacy aswell so hopefully I will get it calmer tonight, it is more exhausting/annoying than anything else.
OH has taken all the outside lights down and reboxed them so I will start undressing the tree.
I have put another wash on - this mornings had a tissue in - so I will spend 10 minutes in the garden shaking it all!The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Michelle, probably telling you something you already know, but make sure when bubba comes that you have a changing station downstairs as well so you can chage nappies for either of them quickly. I never had a changing mat downstairs when it was just Connor but now I have a massive baskety thing in the playroom with a mat, wipes, bags and 2 sizes of nappies in (and muslins, bibs, nappy bags and some random junk as well  ). Its like a production line in the mornings as Connor is still in pullups at night :mad:0

Hi Solway!
Would've joined in with the half hour challenge, but just finished my shower, and the half hour is now up, so can't!
Must get on and do some flying cos OH decided to sand down the kitchen walls yesterday, and the sides are all covered in dust where he didn't clean up after himself! Typical!
Think my half hour challenge will start at 3pm cos I should've got dressed and dried my hair by then. Anyone is welcome to join me then.

Hi Sexymouse, glad your proper teaching job is going good - if tiring!
I didn't get much done in the kitchen, I chased some blown washing around the garden, rehung it and then went out to fetch it when the rain started. (It's because I cleaned my windows, sorry..). I did get the sides cleared and dishes washed and put away. I might have another bash at 3pm then - floor can wait until kitchen day-after a cuppa tea and the last of the bikkies. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400
