Dad is still in hospital - he's had another operation on his foot and they'll look again in another 10 days so looks like he'll be there for a while. His company was taken over last weekend and because he's on a 0 hours contract he thinks that he might not have a job now, and certainly no sick pay. Mom is out of her mind with worry, especially as he took out a loan that he didn't tell her about so will have to wait and see how that pans out.

Any ideas if Dad would be eligible for invalidity or something? He's worked all of his life so surely he's entitled to something more than just SSP? Can any of you point me in the right direction?

First he has to find out if he is unemployed, as while employed he can only claim SSP.

Is it a long term illness?

Did he take out PPI with the loan?

Solway congratulations :D pass our best wishes to your SIL and brother of course :D welcome to the world little one.

Right, been a busy day, Tescos because DS1 smashed his glasses (bad mood swings, probably because back to school tomorrow, he likes it just hates 'changes') took kids & dogs to one of the parks - wet, muddy and cold brrrr!!! then my friend came over to visit (with baby M so got a squeeze, he's making such cool cute noises!) then my mother came over at 4.30pm.......and has only just gone......not sure if I prefered when she visited once every 6 months or more often like now and stays ages :rotfl: DP hid in his garage.

Likklegibbon, I will be completely honest I am unsure what entitlements there would be, I will pass on this link however http://www.acas.org.uk/ as they helped a friend of mine greatly when dealing with employment contract problems.

Anyway, I'll try and catch up on the rest of everyones day, thought I'd best get tomorrows list posted before it gets too late.

Forgot to say earlier congratulations from me too Aunty Solway - i think because every time i see someone's birth story i am trying to skim over in a put my hands over my ears and go lalalalalala it is not happening any time soon to me type way. Love the new baby, but really don't want to endure another 27 hour labour

DH has decided there is nothing on the telly and he has gone upstairs with paint brush in hand and he is going to do a 2nd coat to cover up the horrible wood in the bathroom. That way we may be back to normal sooner rather than later.

I have just gone and moved the contents of the airing cupboard from our bed, into a holdall, making a decision to bin one old towel, send two freebie catalogue hand towels my aunty gave us to the charity shop, and sorted out one single bedding set to keep, dumping the old one from uni, and also got rid of a knackered double set which was the one i bought when we moved in together 6 plus years ago - we have kept a couple of bits for dust sheets, and the rest can go in the textile recycling. :D I will be able to move in my tidy house at some stage.

Will have another sort out as i put it all back no doubt, as i am umming and awwing about how many baby towels i have, but then again they are really useful for newborns, as i used to put one between me and charlie while breastfeeding to stop dribbles on our clothes and the v-cushion, and also for putting over a shoulder while winding him. I am not kidding there are 15 of them as my sis gave me all hers, i bought 4 and was given extras. So some have seen better days.

Anyway, more work calling so i can have a reasonably early night.

******* I just lost a really long post gist of it is ,Well done Awsmum for your post totalI am still in bed planning what to do taday. No I am not ill just same as usual but was awake all night so got a couple of hours after everyone left to work, uni, college etc. New kitchen floor is being started tomorrow-insurance claim and really annoying as I only needed 4 tiles replacing but have to have whole floor done. DD has decided to paint ceiling before the floor is done tomorrow so i can't do much in kitchen today but need to clean and check fridge before it is moved.

I will try a proper list again later. I think I lost other one because I haven't used a lap top since I was at work three years ago. It was three years 5th Jan since I was last a teacher. :(
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
