Well Ive been looking at the magic knickers this morning so anyone walking past the shop window will probably be having a laugh! I got some from M & S just the big brief ones and to be honest dont rate them, have looked at the ones pigpen was on about and I think they would be much better. This is the year I shall get rid on my jelly belly (well its the overhang I mind not the jelly bit so much). Am looking for some boots in the sale too, I am fancying boots with longer skirts and fancy tights but none left in the sales on-line.

Flying, well I am at work at moment so not alot done this am before I left. Kids fed and dressed, DD1 hair prettied for her party this pm and present wrapped. Am hoping that DH will take DD2 with him to pick her up (party finished at 5pm and is half hour drive away) and I can get an hours ironing in. So list for today when I get home from work

Put chicken carcass in S/C for stew/soup for this weeks lunches for me
Put towels on to wash then TD (lovely soft fluffy towels - bliss)
    Ironing
Put BM on (rolls and then loaf)
Get littles PE kit packed ready for school tomorrow (yeah!!!)
Do cheque for her once a week school dinners this month
    General S & S
Sort fridge & cupboards ready for tomorrows tesco order

Thats the plan anyway so heres hoping.

We have got blue skies here today, would be good if they hang around for a few days as outside needs a bit of a tidy.

I am off to hunt for boots...

Dont install norton!!!!! It is a complete nightmare:eek: We had so many problems with it and i know loads of people with the same thing! Try AVG, its what most hackers use.
Anyway, morning:D Have had a very profitable 2 days, people obviously felt sorry for the poor waitress who couldnt speak:D Not much done in the way of flying, just a bit of maintenance. Will try and do some this afternoon after i pick up my monkey.

I agree re Norton, we now have AVG

  • :hello:everyone. Flippin' 'ell - you've been chatty since Thu - it's took me two hours to catch up!

Embb - so sorry to hear about your split with OH - it must be a very confusing and upsetting time for you so ((((hugs)))) x
Tracyg - is DS alright after his tumble? And so sorry to hear about your young relative's death ((((hug))))
Maralum/Poohbear59 - good luck for your husband's job searching - fingers crossed for you both (PB - is your leg feeling better now?)
Tia - it's that time of year when old arguments seem to rise to the surface again, isn't it? That and the fact that the OH is home more than usual - try not to kill him, we'd miss you too much.
Rach - hope you had a terrific hen night and that the next 3 weeks is as stress-free as possible - your new job sounds fab
Pigpen - poor baby - hope your migraine doesn't dare to return tho with 8 kids at home in the hols, its not suprising x
Sorry if I've missed anyone xx

I feel like poo - so much for my firm intention to post everyday. Have been coughing and spluttering over everyone at work - the supervisor sent me home early the last 2 days and I just couldn't face it today so stayed home in bed.

Dad is still in hospital - he's had another operation on his foot and they'll look again in another 10 days so looks like he'll be there for a while. His company was taken over last weekend and because he's on a 0 hours contract he thinks that he might not have a job now, and certainly no sick pay. Mom is out of her mind with worry, especially as he took out a loan that he didn't tell her about so will have to wait and see how that pans out.

Any ideas if Dad would be eligible for invalidity or something? He's worked all of his life so surely he's entitled to something more than just SSP? Can any of you point me in the right direction?

 At the state of my bathroom and bedroom currently. I thought i was doing OK downstairs. DH went upstairs to start sanding the bathroom, and now, muck everywhere in the bathroom, and the contents of the bathroom and airing cupboard on my bed/floor. Glad i got my hair washed this morning as i can't see it ending up fully done by this evening.

Anyone know why you have to trash somewhere before it can look anywhere near better?

Charlie now having a nap, so i have made a start on the dreaded school stuff which i really can't be bothered with. I would rather do anything else in fact.

I think what i might do to keep me motivated in all aspects of this 'makeover' is to try and make a more detailed list of what needs doing - if in doubt, another list should help!!

I can't imagine when we will ever have a peaceful weekend ever again. In fact, i should be glad to go to work as i may possibly get more rest there.;)

    Afternoone everyone!

I'm so proud of myself this week - I've got further than I ever have before with the flying.

Here's what I managed this week (started Wednesday, and work full-time)

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/strike]
    Level Two
    [strike]Clean floors
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary) [/strike]
    Level Three
[strike]Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky[/strike]
    Extra Mission:
    Choose one or more of:
    • [strike]Clean inside of fridge[/strike]
    • [strike]Sort through cleaning cupboard, bin empties and move what needs using first to the front[/strike]
[strike]Clean OVEN yes I know you all hate that one wonder how many choose it
Sort any one kitchen/dining room storage area, drawer, cupboard or a shelf
Check the freezer, maybe work what is in there into your meals for the week so you can spend less on groceries
[/strike]Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
    [strike]Vacuum floors and sofas [/strike]
    Level 2
    [strike]Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/strike]
    Level 3
    [strike]Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
    Tidy shoes, coats and bags
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)[/strike]
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks – [strike]Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
Card list - suggested by serena - make a list of who you have received cards from, their addresses and put it somewhere safe! (Mine will be in the decorations bag, someone remind me next year please :o I'll forget)
Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over
Clean a window, only need to do one but if you manage more then :D well done
Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. You could delegate and give everyone their own misplaced things to deal with :D
    [/strike]Wednesday, Master Bedroom & Landing

    Level 1
[strike]Remove bed linen and wash, replace with fresh linen
Clean windows and wipe window sills[/strike]
    Level 2
    [strike]Check fire alarms are working
Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing[/strike]
    Level 3
[strike]Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen[/strike]
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
    [strike][strike]
    • [STRIKE]27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe light switches and dust light shades/lights in bedroom and on landing
Sort one drawer, making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Wipe door handles and doors upstairs
    [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Find a home for something that doesn't have one, maybe a present you or a child received that isn't put 'away' yet because it doesn't have a place[/STRIKE]
    [/strike][/strike]Thursday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area

    Level One
[strike]Clean floors in these rooms (even if it is around the clutter) [/strike]
    Level Two
    [strike]Clean baths, toilets and sinks
    Clear any clutter from desk
Dust PC and desk, wet cloth may be needed for cup rings
Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switches and mouse etc[/strike]
    Level Three
    [strike]Clear clutter from floor
    Wipe down tiles in bathroom
    Defragment the pc

    [strike]Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required[/strike][/strike]
    Extra mission:
Pick whichever you want to attempt:
    • [strike]Wipe the skirtings, door and window frames in these rooms[/strike]
    • [strike]Clean vacuum cleaner out, brushes, filters, whatever else needs doing (make sure it's dry before using it again!) [/strike]
    • Wash your bathroom mats, nets, clean blind/curtains etc
    • Sort a wardrobe or part of, a drawer or set of drawers making sure it has what needs to be in it and any 'extras' are put where they should be
    • [strike]Give the pc desk a good clean! Pull out the case, printer, scanner and all those coffee mugs! [/strike]
Finally Friday - those terrible kids rooms and spare rooms
    Level One
[strike]Vacuum Floor (even if it's just where you can see)[/strike]
    Level Two
[strike]Strip beds, vacuum mattress and replace with fresh linen[/strike]
    Level Three
    [strike]Dusting and cobweb checking
Put anything back in it's place that isn't where it should be[/strike]
    Extra Mission Task Choices
[strike]Time for the Friday Flylady Fling, aim for 27, if you can't find that many, well done, you are obviously making a difference
Sort through some toys/books/clothes even if it's just for 10 miutes, making sure any broken ones are dealt with/flung, dirty ones get wiped/washed before putting them back and anything that should be parted with is.
    [/strike]
    • Clean kids rooms windows (check the curtains etc while you are there to make sure they don't need cleaning/wiping)
    • Wipe any sticky marks off doors and walls in the kids rooms, may aswell wipe the lightswitches and handles over too
    • Spend 10 minutes sorting paperwork, filing or flinging
Apart from the dailies and night time routines that's the lot for the week, of course if you still want to join us over the weekend you are more than welcome. I will restart the weekend lists next week. Back in gradually :D

FRIDAY EXTRA - Don't forget your ME time this weekend, even if it's just a nice relaxing bath or catching up with an old friend, go on you deserve it!!

Also kept up with all the dailies (wash loads, kitchen sink and s/swipe bathroom)

Feeling really great about all this.

Thanks to you all - what a difference it all makes. Off to watch a family film this pm and have a bath later!

wow rumbly that's fab! well done gal! :T

Sorry pigpen but your children's antics do make me laugh :D different story when they're your own though.

Thanks likklegibbon x I'm up and down still at the minute but I still daren't put music on I'll be a wreck lol I tell a lie I've been playing Take That Rule the World on YouTube - it's divine but doesn't upset me :D

Ok, been to Aldi for a good nose about and managed to get some really nice stuff off my shopping list and all for £13  :T just got bits to get tomorrow now - why don't I do my shopping there? it's a mystery to me.

Swept the living room floor and folded up the rug and put it away, it was mingin', the paint littley got on it hasn't shifted and looks just awful, I'm going to have a good go at cleaning it once they're back at school cause it looks really nice down.

Just about to prep the spuds for tea, got some bargain breaded chicken coujons at Sainsburys yesterday so having them with mash and veg.

S&S'd the kitchen and loaded the DW will put the tea dishes in it later on too then switch it on. Still have yet to locate school uniforms.

The 6ft pool table that was taking up my entire pc/spare room space is down! Looking round it's a dump as just flung everything and anything in here and it hasn't been cleaned for 2 weeks *hangs head in shame* so gonna do it now whilst I'm in the mood, needs a good airing too as it's pongy _pale_ but I've been unable to get to the window lol

Need to put TD on too

    Laters lovelies x

    Afternoon all.

Rumbly you have done fab well done you.
LJD hope you are feeling a bit better now - don't worry I haven't got very far with the flying after all
Littlegibbon your poor parents, when Dad was sick with Cancer they got more than SSP a benefits guy visited them at home, told them everything they could claim for including a blue badge and filled in all the forms.I would guess that his work cannot just disown him even if it is a takeover - why not post a thread on one of the other boards?

Don't feel I am getting too far, toy sort did not go well as DS3 wanted most of it but I will see what he plays with over the next month leading up to his birthday and remove things along the way. TBH I have enough to sort for selling/donating at the moment, hope I can remember how to turbo list.

Want to get the lamb in the oven in a minute. DS3 playing nicely with his friend who is just here until 4:30 - that will give him time to tidy up before tea.
