    Morning all,

I hope those that were feeling rough yesterday are feeling better today. I'm fine though a little sore still from the physio yesterday.

When I sorted out my little loft before Christmas down came a bundle of old maps I bought at a local auction house about four years ago. There was one particular one I really wanted (I'm researching a particular aspect of local history at the moment with a view to writing a book) and, of course, you have to buy the lot! So, I have about 50 old OS maps dating from late 1880s to 1950 lying around which I don't want. Having checked ebay, it seems these particular maps go from anywhere between £1.50 and £22.00 each so I could have a little gold mine there :) These maps, therefore, will be added to my list of recurring missions - put at least 3 of them on ebay each week.

    My missions for today are:
    • Strip my bed
    • Wash my bedding
    • Dry bedding
    • Hoover mattress
    • Hoover bedroom floor
    • Hoover living room throws (pesky dog with her white hairs! - And that's not me by the way!)
    • Hoover living room floor Again!
    • Remake bed
    • Get duck out of freezer to defrost for roast tomorrow
    • Go to Mr T's for the stuff I couldn't get in town yesterday
    • Go to town to possibly buy:
      • Spare set of bedding for me (I'm soooo fussy, I only have one set which gets washed, dried and put back on bed the same day - means the TD has to be on sometimes - if I had a second set, one set could be drying during the week)
      • Hunt down a pen that nice neighbour has a hankering for and hasn't been able to find
      • Slippers - my feet are now too cold in my scruffy sandals
    • RINSE SPROUTING BEANS THIS EVENING
    • Contemplate doing self assessment tax return
    • Do some ironing and sort out what I'm wearing for work next week
    • Check paypal account is still valid and live
    • Put at least three maps up on ebay
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

    Morning all croaks Dusty.

Thanks for all the good wishes. The great news is it is not the dreaded bug. I woke myself up coughing last night. It felt like somebody had a very dusty dusting stick that they were tickling the back of my throat with. Plan to look up a homeopathic rememdy and see if we have any cough mixture - does anybody know how you do hot honey and lemon - Do I just add some of both to boiling water?

Right need to find my list, get to town and get the tree down.

Have a good day. Hugs Emmb, it is up to you if you are happy for things to continue as they have been for the past 14 years or if you have had enough. Enjoy the film.

PJs - DS2 often just puts his clothes over the top of his and goes out. He is such a skinny little runt that he feels the cold - he is in a termal longsleeved vest from November to April day and night.

G&B poor you, I so hope you feel better soon

AnW'smum, it's true there is a bit of that in us all, I don't mind generally but when I really need some time on my own I get resentful and I'm sure I wouldn't be good company today.

I haven't shifted from the sofa apart from to get more tea and a lap cat swap. I've done my online banking and paid some money I owed my mum. My brother phoned to tell me SIL has started having contractions - 11 days past due date and an unsuccessful 'Sooty and Sweep' attempt - so..fingers crossed.

Cancelled my lunchtime meet up without too much guilt so I can get on. Time to get dressed. I need to add window cleaning to my list too.

Dusty a few of the recipe pages I have for such things http://www.make-stuff.com/formulas/cough_cold.html
    http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Lemon%20%26%20honey%20cough%20mixture%20(tlc)
Malou recommends a proportion of 1 tsp. honey and the juice of a quarter of a lemon in a cup of freshly-boiled water. I like my morning drink a little strong so I increased the amount to 2 tbsps. of honey and the juice of half a lemon in a cup of hot water.
HTH and you feel better later.
Solwaykid, fingers very much crossed, 11 days she must be so fed up!
beemuzed, no banishment from here, hope you get better soon
maralum - well done :) you're doing great!
embb, like the others said, you have been doing it alone apart from having to nanny/worry about/look after when he needed you to, I have read your posts and know from what I read he wasn't supportive of you, sorry but I think you'll probably find it easier on your own. I know I did when me and my partner split and I do wonder sometimes why on earth I put up with him because he just adds to the work/heartache/hassle etc

Well this morning has been filled as usual on the 5th with calls and texts to say sorry they forgot DS1s birthday. I think he's used to it now. Too close to the silly season and people forget.

Got to get DP up at 12 and see if he'll go and have a look at my mothers car because she's having another one of her 'frets' over it. She won't listen when I tell her you don't need to keep refilling brake fluid etc so see if she'll listen to him. I offered to do it but she would prefer him to - even if it's me who usually does ours!

Today for me will be - taking tree to be recycled as I didn't yesterday, general tidying and cleaning of living room once that is gone, finding uniforms and PE stuff (found lunch boxes so that's one done!) One load of laundry to do - weird saying just one.

Wondering what happened near here last night/early this morning, DP came in at 4am (I was awake for some bizarre reason) and there was roads closed to where we live so he had to go a different way
One day I might be more organised...........

I got more fed up with people saying 'your still here then' when it was fairly obvious that she had not been born!
