This is my third attempt at posting, it keeps on crashing. Anyway thank you very much for the garden comments. It is the main reason why we bought the house, despite the major renovation work required. Takes rather more time than I expected. 80% of the house is still run down and 'yuck', and I don't have a kitchen (just a sink and a table in a room with dry rot and woodworm) for anyone feeling remotely envious. No chickens yet Soappie, but DH is building me a coop this weekend.

Anyway, a couple of hours flying to do with the assistance of DS2 then I have to do the 80 mile round trip to drop SS1 back at his Mums.

Morning...can I go back to bed! The guy who is fitting the gas part of our cooker arrived at 7am! I am soooooooooooo tired. Not complaining though as he's doing it as a favour. The cooker now works (apart from the list of things that need replacing/mending etc). DH just needs to put in two more sets of sockets and then the kitchen can start being put back together. He's managed to put the cupboard that was moved to make way for the wider cooker on the other side of the room so I don't even lose any cupboard space.

Right, jobs today...take down decorations and sort kitchen and clinic out as i'm working tomorrow. Might try an hours kip later too. Have a good day xx

Well it's the 4th, which means it's DS1s birthday and he's being a right pain in the a*se :rotfl: but thanks for the birthday wishes, can't believe he's 9 already. I am in a way not suprised they are being a pain, I think the boys are sick of each other now. Roll on Monday! We'll try and take them out later, he wants to go out for dinner and to be honest it's been a while since we last went out for a nice dinner and will be a welcome change to cooking. Part of me is dreading it and can see it being a disaster of the boys misbehaving and DP ending up shouting or stomping off as he usually does, we'll see.

Good news is more money went in the bank today than I was expecting, a good £60 more, so after checking it was right :o yep it was just my adding up was wrong, that's a bit more in the pot for this month which of course is welcomed with both the boys birthdays.

Boys rooms aren't too bad, not danger zones as in you can get from one side of the room to the other safely but they do need a good clean. Dusting wasn't done last week an you can most certainly tell, their PCs and window ledges are very dusty so need to get those done today.

No sign of the Wilkos order yet, pouring with rain so still won't be getting any washing dry outside. I think the boys were hoping for more snow.

Right I best phone the library, according to the libraries online DS1 has no books out so can't renew them, he has 3.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Morning all!

Just having a quick two mins sat down whilst DS happily occupied with the large amount of wrapping paper collected from Freecycle yesterday. He's in a workshop but what he's doing??? Lots of cutting, sticking and tearing up noises but happy to let him get on with it. School on Monday is needed.

Just hoovered upstairs - where did all that muck come from? Then steamcleaned hall and DS's room as fed up of the suspicious marks - even more dirt! So now embarassed at dirty house and trying to figure out when I can do the rest.

We have a Victorian house and no central hallway so sorting out which rooms to do when requires a lot of planning, and a dry day to nip out thro' front door alongside of house and into backdoor to get to kitchen or office when dining room drying!

Oh well back to some bill paying before hoovering the downstairs!

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

    Morning all

One load of washing draped round indoors and I've just taken off the throws in the living room and bunged them on to wash. Clean ones put on (I had to move the dog to do it!)

I did all the bedrooms on Wednesday so I'm just having a pottering day. Listening to a CD my DD gave me for my birthday. Yep, I still hate it, can't tell her that of course. I'm just scared she'll buy me another one by the same one if I praise it too much! (My birthday was August btw, not hinting it's today).

That reminds me, Happy Birthday lil_me's DS :)

Okay I'm dressed, WM on and TD on. I've looked at DS's bedroom and then walked away again! He's only got the box room and all the stuff he had for Christmas has just been dumped. I have no idea where I'm going to put it all!

I suppose I'd better go and attempt to do something to it. Wish me luck!
