I have been sat here checking the bank accounts as well Serena. Just noticed a DD for £100 taken on 28th Dec which I did not sign for  just rung the bank who were about as much use as a choc fireguard. They cancelled the DD (which I could have done online) but could not arrange an indemnity because the dept that does it is not working today. When I suggested they send a TMS (Internal email) so that I don't have to ring back tomorrow he just said I don't make the rules. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am staff and I know how these things work!!!!!! Might as well wait until I go into work on Thurs and sort it myself! Jeez do I feel sorry for the non staff customers dealing with baffoons like that!
Sorry first rant of 2008 over withOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
kaz honey, I know just how you feel, woke up all eager then realised this cold is still there and I didn't hear my phone because of the deafness, things can only get better!
LJD1 hope your Dad is ok, have a nice day today
torianut, hope your little one is better soon, never nice when they are poorly
Jue, sorry:rotfl:
AnWsMum, isn't it awful when you have to sell someone how to do their job, worse when they don't listen!
Taking this opportunity to welcome the new members aswell as welcome back those who have been here before. Hope you all stick with us and it doesn't only last until mid January. It gets a little chaotic in here at times, we don't all always get done what we would like, but some great people to share the success and failures with
Right, vacuuming was done very late last night so will give that a quick whizz round later, I'm going to take the cards down next (do the list) then I can get to the window which needs a good clean and the sills need a dusting. We have a stupid shelf (DP likes it and I hate it) which goes round all but one wall in the sitting room that has become a dumping shelf (hence why he likes it and I hate it) and also needs cleaning so that will be done after the cards. Oh and I spied a manky great big cobweb which needs swiping downI'll have to find a chair to stand on.
Meanwhile I am stealing Pigpen's idea for the bags, you're right, they can pick up their own things! One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I like Pigpens idea about the bags too, my sons room is a mess, they have actually ruined all my hard work of tidying up their room yesterday, why do i bother
I'm going to take some black sacks up and tell them that if their room isn't tidy in 1hr i'm going to put it all in the bin bags ready for the dustman and i don't care if i bin their xmas presents or not  I'm going to tell them now and have a cuppa to calm down0 -
Afternoon
S&S done
Soup cooking
Bolog cooking
Going to have lunch and then tackle DS3 room - he is dancing in the living room at the moment
OH taking DS1 and DS2 out on the dirt board after lunch and doing his run at the same time - wow he can finally plan and multi task! The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
My resolutions:
More gardening
Less worrying
More organized
Less stessing
More box schemes/organic meat orders
Less supermarket shops
Do you see the theme More is Less and Less is MoreThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I've found a floor in the kitchen.. and 8 more loads of washing in my bedroom!!! I have washing hung everywhere.. and I have turned off the heating because I am boiling so I doubt it will dry very quick.. but it is raining out there so not much I can do about it. Both airers are full too.
I've filled 2 binbags already without even trying and thrown those out!.. let's see if I can beat my record of 8 binbags of rubbish in one day lol.. That will probably be the equivalent of everything the children got for christmas lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I've been through the bag of Christmas cards. Only the one from someone we don't know (Jim). We got quite excited yesterday when DH's brother was round and said he thought he knew who Jim was, but when he looked at the card he said the writing was different.....
I've cut out gift tags from about a dozen cards and the rest are back in the bag ready for recycling - when somebody goes to Tesco or whatever.0 -
I've cut out gift tags from about a dozen cards and the rest are back in the bag ready for recycling - when somebody goes to Tesco or whatever.
I never thought of that, i was going to bung them all in the recycle bin, now thats something for the kids to amuse themsleves with, cutting tags out of them ready for next year  Thanks Polly0 -
Just having a cup of tea and piece of cake (had a big fry up earlier so cake will do for a late lunch) and thought I'd see what I've done so far today:
Looks like I can't put off looking in the fridge any longer!
LEFT FROM MONDAY
Level Two
[strike]Clean floors Already done the utility area one - had to - one of the cats decided they couldn't wait until I got up so peed all over it! Just need to to bathroom and kitchen[/strike]
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Level Three
[strike]Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required[/strike]
[strike]Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky [/strike]
Extra Mission:
Choose one or more of:- Clean inside of fridge
- [strike]Sort through cleaning cupboard, bin empties and move what needs using first to the front[/strike] This was actually a useful exercise - I found several things which were lurking under other things. I won't need to buy rubber gloves for ages! I also went one better and cleaned the cupboard whilst everything was out.
- [strike]Clean OVEN yes I know you all hate that one wonder how many choose it[/strike] I've done the outside. And, I only gave it a real good going over about 10 days so I refuse!
- Check the freezer, maybe work what is in there into your meals for the week so you can spend less on groceries
Level 1
[strike]Vacuum floors and sofas [/strike]
[strike]Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything [/strike]
[strike]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe[/strike] I'm all on one floor so there are no stairs
[strike]Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets[/strike]
Level 3
Wipe light switches and [strike]banister[/strike]No banisters!
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
[strike]Tidy shoes, coats and bags[/strike] These, surprisingly, are already tidy
[strike]Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)[/strike]
Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –- Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
- Card list - suggested by serena - make a list of who you have received cards from, their addresses and put it somewhere safe! (Mine will be in the decorations bag, someone remind me next year please I'll forget)
- [strike]Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over[/strike] Actually did this yesterday with a book case which had 5 shelves so I'm pretending I've done it today!
- Clean a window, only need to do one but if you manage more then well done
- [strike]Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. You could delegate and give everyone their own misplaced things to deal with[/strike] Done - I counted 28 things!
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
