HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
Sorry I havent been around lately, had poorly littlies and no motiviation!
DS has been ill since boxing day and now on his 2nd lot of antibiotics for a recurrin ear infection - we have hardly slept for a week and he has clung to either me or OH like a baby chimp all day everyday!
BUT my new years resolution is to keep up with this thread and do lots more home cooked food for the 5 of us! So here I am - tree been taken down this morning and going to clean living room when he wakes from his nap.
Hope all your dreams and wishes come true in 2008 - failing that hope we all have good health and some happiness!!0 -
Morning
Up and raring to go this morning, the tree's coming down and I can't wait to give everything the once over even though it's not too bad the floor hasn't been mopped for a while. Nephew had a lovely birthday yesterday and the buffet was gorgeous (as ever) so there's a pile of stuff in the fridge for us all today to pick at, I love leftovers.

Morning ladies and a very H A P P Y 2 0 0 8 to you all
It's already a strange 2008 for me. Went to a party at a neighbour's last night and when it got to just before midnight, I decided I'd much rather walk home and see the New Year in with the dog and cats than watch fireworks etc. So I did. Does that make me an old misery?
Have woken up this morning and for the first time in my life I'm on my own New Year's morning (apart from the dog and cats of course!). DS and DiL live with me but they went to a different party last night and are staying over. DD moved out about 9 months ago. I don't have an OH. It feels v. strange indeed! But don't worry, I'm not down or depressed about it. Just feels strange!
My cold is still lurking - v. snotty this morning and I'm a tad hungover (mental note - NEVER mix gin and champagne!) so I'm not sure how much flying I shall do today, but I shall make a concerted effort. List below:
LEFT FROM MONDAY
Level Two
Clean floors Already done the utility area one - had to - one of the cats decided they couldn't wait until I got up so peed all over it! Just need to to bathroom and kitchen
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Level Three
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
Extra Mission:
Choose one or more of:- Clean inside of fridge
- Sort through cleaning cupboard, bin empties and move what needs using first to the front
- Clean OVEN yes I know you all hate that one wonder how many choose it
- Check the freezer, maybe work what is in there into your meals for the week so you can spend less on groceries
Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas
Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything
[strike]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe[/strike] I'm all on one floor so there are no stairs
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
Level 3
Wipe light switches and [strike]banister[/strike]No banisters!
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
[strike]Tidy shoes, coats and bags[/strike] These, surprisingly, are already tidy
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –- Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
- Card list - suggested by serena - make a list of who you have received cards from, their addresses and put it somewhere safe! (Mine will be in the decorations bag, someone remind me next year please I'll forget)
- Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over
- Clean a window, only need to do one but if you manage more then well done
- Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. You could delegate and give everyone their own misplaced things to deal with

Anyway, popped on for something, forget what.0 -
Morning to all you lovely ladies and thank you for the past year especially lil_me and pigpen, its been a grand one.
Wish I could say 2008 was starting better but I feel like carp again today, am covered in hives which are itching like crazy and my cough and cold feels heavier on my chest than ever. I think I may be off to the out of hours GP a bit later as I darent take any more meds as it may be them setting off the hives.
Oh dear and I wanted to be so positive for 2008Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Morning all and a Happy New Year
What a lovely post lil_me I think it echoes what a lot of people on here think ie the help and support from all and always a shoulder to lean on.
Well it seems like there is going to be a lot to celebrate right from the word go, your DS's birthdays, some at Pigpens, DD, DH, and DS in that order here and of course not forgetting Rach's weddingit's gonna be a busy month!
Suppose I should go and get dressed and make a start. Have a good day.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Morning all, and happy new year.
One load of washing done. Barricade lifted off DD's boyfriends car roof (it wasn't there when we went to bed, but no damage done).
I'm going to vacuum round downstairs in a minute and then do the stairs.
Still want to scratch my eyes out but I'm resisting.
Cat has got the wind in her tail and is whizzing round the room at top speed!0 -
Oh Kaz you sound ina right old state, poor you, hope you get better soon x
Good Luck with the stopping smoking vanilla you're a braver gal than me lol

Cards down and bagged ready to take to Asda/Sainsburys for recycling. Gonna make a move upstairs to make the beds shortly, after my cuppa, of course0
