Hello all - am feeling pleased with myself today as I have finally climbed the mountain of ironing and the basket is empty - although I am on here when I should really be upstairs putting it away!! I hate that bit.
Anyway, about time I got on with todays list, where is it? -
Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
    Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
    Tidy shoes, coats and bags
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
    • Card list - suggested by serena - make a list of who you have received cards from, their addresses and put it somewhere safe! (Mine will be in the decorations bag, someone remind me next year please :o I'll forget)
    • Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over
    • Clean a window, only need to do one but if you manage more then :D well done
    • Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. You could delegate and give everyone their own misplaced things to deal with :D

    hello all

not been on for ages as been at my mum's and no internet! hope all are ok, i haven't managed to read the whole thread yet but i will do (probably in stages!) i am not really able to be in this week as i am in london most of the rest of the week at OH's and i start my new job tomorrow (only a few days a week until march after honeymoon, south africa trip etc). don't feel nervous, though i've not had a lot of time to think about it to be honest! i guess that because it's a new project and there are 4 of us starting together split across two areas a lot of it is induction for a few weeks apparently. the new thing to me is communting, getting up so early will be a shock! OH and i are going to the station in a bit to get our travelcards rather than queue tomorrow morning.

the main plan for this week is to make a list of all the wedding stuff to do over the next couple of weeks and divvy it up. we did the table plan whilst we were at my parents which was fun (OH has comedy names for loads of people). we also want to sort out the flat insurance so we can move some of his bits in.

anyway, i'll stop waffling, say HAPPY NEW YEAR, one and all. can you believe only 25 days today til my wedding?!!! and i have 2 hen nights and my 30th birthday before then!!!

Still havent got on and done anything, but I meant to say thanks to PIGPEN for her tip re airing duvet. I had washed the section that had the pee on it, and had got rid of all the stain, but not the smell. The airing has cured it!!!!Thank you, thank you thank you I did not want the expense or hassle of washing the whole thing if I didnt have to!

mumoftwo.. good to see you back!!!!!!! Hope everyone is well and had a nice christmas? Is that sister ok? We've not heard from either of you so got concerned you had been squished under piles of clutter!!

Yes, Becca is fine, just busy with kids, work and having her 3rd book published (such a talented lass) We have also both been busy with hampers and thinking up ideas to make money this year.
squished under clutter!! You have no idea :D My bedroom is a total nightmare, boxes of stuff, clean and 'dirty' washing everywhere, sweet wrappers where the kids and I have been lazying in bed watching movies...

This year will be different, I am determined.. I want to win the battle of the clutter and the endless paperwork that comes into this house...

My extra mission for the day was to clear away all the Christmas decorations and get a small child to put them away in the loft - well, a tall child and OH actually! It's a lot harder work trying to fly when everyone is home, and tired from a later night! I, on the other hand, am full of energy today for some reason! Roast beef dinner, followed by profiteroles and chocolate sauce, so no-one is going to be hungry until breakfast!

I'm going to have a cup of tea next, and do my other favourite New Year's Day task, which is opening my new Dairy Diary, and filling in all the dates eg, when CTC and CB are paid, birthdays, appointments, parents' pm, the days for recycling and dustbin collection - it's alternate weeks, and we always forget which week we're on.

Tomorrow, main bedroom, and I'm going to start on emptying the room ready for redecorating - for the first time since we moved in 20 years ago. Yes, I know, but three children and a mountain of clutter in the meantime, have meant there was no chance before. If it were not for Flylady, then I'd be no nearer doing it. OH has finally agreed that I can take all of his old car magazines to the recycling centre - there are three piles, possibly four, shoulder height, so it may take me the best part of the day to do that!! I'm hoping to have it emptied apart from the bed, by the weekend, and then I can start on the washing of walls and sanding down. I know the preparation is the most important part, but I really don't enjoy it. I like the painting best!! May have to bribe DS1 to do the sanding down. I'm off to the Ikea site in a minute to see if I can find the wardrobe designer, and then have to persuade OH to take us up there to order it (and buy all the other bits on my list!) I also have to do a tour of the local fabric warehouses to choose curtain material. And book the carpet cleaner for the middle to end of next week - makes sense to do it with the room empty... I wonder if I could manage a new bed?? rach, do you still have the link to that one that you liked??

Hope all the newbies have had fun today, and feel like they have started to make an impact! I've been here a whole year now, and still have a way to go!

    Still from Monday....
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky - LIL ME – are you magic or something – how did you know it needed doing – will put in top of dishwasher tonight.
Clean OVEN - Am doing this bit by bit, just the inside and pan stands to go – Yes, I’ve saved the worst til last.

DH dug over and composted veg patches, dug up the rest of the parsnips and we have just blanced and frozen them - friends are starting to call us Tom and Barbara Goode!:D

Tea tonight is left overs from friends night before last so nice and easy.

Well done for all your efforts today girls and echoing everyone's Happy new year sentiments. A personal challenge will be for me to get my eye in and follow individual entries - so I can offer any help if I can - but I just can't keep up with you all! :o .... but I agree with the poster who said listing the jobs done in the day really gives a sense of achievement. :T

Will try and carry on with some hotspots tonight - mine are piles of magazines which I should really do something constructive with.

Brilliant.. I used to have a bed pee-er as well... and before her I had one that would poop on DS1's bed!!!!!!! Thankfully only ever a single duvet!

The christmas carp is all away.. the front room is almost sorted.. the back room looks like a bomb went off and the kitchen is almost reasonable.. I must get the floor swept when the brush dries.. it is outside in the rain..

oops.. boiled peas over.. best go dish up.. see you all later!

Beef Wellington made and ready to go into oven 1/2 hour before OH gets home. Why does it sound so complicated, it was so easy (OK its not cooked yet but so far .....:D ) best go see if I can find some veg, frozen I'm afraid but at least frozen from the allotment.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
