I think the issue is I'm using the app, so there isn't an obvious way to do it.Nasqueron said:
There are two ways - either copy/paste from your browser or you can use the tools on the post - just type some text and highlight it then click on the icon that looks like a chain and it brings up a window where you can paste a links71hj said:
How did you post the link? I couldn't for the life of me work out how to!Nasqueron said:

There's a whole stack of ways to make a payment to yourself in effect on a debit card in a thread. Can't work out how to post a link but here's a copy and paste of the title;Nasqueron said:
Just buy the cheapest item possible and self scan them at quiet times. You might be able to get a carrot for 1-2p if it was small enoughWindfallWendy said:Account switch done.
Deposit made
Two credit card DDs are set up on it.
I have the card in my virtual wallet
I'm registered with online banking
So just 10 transactions needed ....this is going to be annoying, even if I'm just buying 10 items in Lidl. But I'll do it.
I saw something earlier in the thread about penny transactions or something which I didn't quite understand. But any top tips would be gratefully received.Savings/investment DDs and debit card deposits- An updated list

However, for the MSE purpose of spending as little as possible while getting the reward from the bank, 10x debit transactions at a supermarket for the cheapest items that are of use may be better. Carrots at Sainsbury's are 69p a kg loose, or essentially 7p per 100g, find a carrot weighing less than 20g gets you a 2p transaction. I found Sainsbury's Christmas biscuit packs were listed as 19p but came up on the scanner as 6p so that was easy and some fun for the office
Re supermarket spend, I guess the advantage of using things on the debit card list is you are literally sending the money to yourself in a lot of cases, from the comfort of your own home, although there is a certain rigmarole to then drawing it back to your main bank account I know.

I'm doing ten £1 payments to my fuel supplier through their app. Obviously that's only useful if you want to pay them an extra tenner a month for three months. You can always ask for it back if your credit balance gets too high.1

Today is the "pay day" for my third and final £25 payment. Just like the previous two I got an email first thing from Co-op entitled "Important information about your Switch and Stay Offer". However, unlike the previous two there is no body text at all in the email, just the lengthy footnote/disclaimer "This e-mail is intended solely for the addressee... etc". So that made me chuckle a little.Anyway, the £25 has landed so that's the end of that. So long and thanks for all the cash.
