Did you get the £25 at the end of the first month? Or as soon as you’d done all the criteria?s71hj said:The £25 payment came through today. I have already done the £1000 for the next month but wondering about the criteria - "must meet the following criteria between 11/01/2025 and 10/02/2025" does my £1000 deposit today ON the 11th count as BETWEEN 11th and 10th?0 -
Thanks the agent I spoke to checked my transactions and agrees that I have qualified for the first £25 and said they would make some inquiries and would get back to me today. I asked if they could do something to ensure I don't need to chase them for the next 2 payments like I have on the first 2 payments. When negotiating the compensation last month I should have asked for it to be enhanced for the further mistakes they will inevitably make and have now made in running this offer.dealyboy said:
Yes ... sounds like it ... you've gone outside the procedure. I'm pleased you got the £75 + ... hope you get £25 +3 -
Well that coop agent never got back to me so I am back on hold waiting to raise it with the next agent.
I hope Coventry Building Society dissolve this bank in acid it's really not worth keeping.
If this continues we are heading for another complaint which they will probably mishandle again sigh.
All I wanted was to meet the terms of their switch offer and get the incentives but it's like pulling teeth.

I hope they don't, I've had a 7% regular saver and £175 in refer-a-friend offers out of them plus some money from their everyday rewards they used to do.Alexland said:I hope Coventry Building Society dissolve this bank in acid it's really not worth keeping.
Not as profitable for me as some of the other banks I've used but they still serve a purpose in my collection of accounts.0 -
The vast majority of support routes I have tried seem to be useless. I would never trust them to be my main bank account. The switch team (ok it's not often you would need to deal with them), the complaints team, over half the phone agents, the majority of the secure message replies - all inadequate or not empowered to understand or resolve things. The queues on the phone have never been short either.Bridlington1 said:

I'm committed to getting these £25s but if they do continue to exist I don't care what rate they offer I'll avoid them like the plague. It's really not been worth it for me. With hindsight I wouldn't have gone for this offer.
They should start a refer-an-enemy scheme. Maybe I'd stay for that as part of my finance toolkit.1 -
Believe me I can understand your frustrations, if I was in your position my patience would also be beginning to thin somewhat.Alexland said:

You may remember my own issues with Co-op when they refused to pay me the £125 refer-a-friend offer and I took them to the FOS (and won) as a result, this came at a time when I was very busy at Uni and rather exhausted. Even with hindsight I would've still gone for the offer though, it was a pain at the time but I got the money and am thus a bit richer for it.
I don't use them as a main account though and never have done, I currently use them solely for the regular saver and make deposits into a few of my other regular savers from the current account, all the time they offer something I can profit from I'll use them. To be honest though I don't really have a main bank these days.
In fairness I doubt they've made much money out of me, I've used them solely for 2 lots of the refer-a-friend offer, a loss-leading regular saver, got money from them for paying out direct debits and debit card payments to myself and it can't've been that cheap for them to be taken to the FOS and then have to pay me £125 as a result followed by the person who referred me to complain and in line with my advice take them to the FOS following my successful complaint and also get £125 (the friend in question used Co-op in a similar way to me).Alexland said:

Maybe they should highlight "opportunity to complain for good reason and eventually be compensated" as one of the benefits of their accounts?
1 -
It's certainly a benefit but not really specific to Co-op in my experience though. I've complained with good reason and had compensation from Barclays, Virgin, TSB, Monmouthshire BS, HEBS, Raisin, probably others but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.Alexland said:Maybe they should highlight "opportunity to complain for good reason and eventually be compensated" as one of the benefits of their accounts?
The truth is every bank'll make a horlicks of something from time to time, each has former customers who are tell you to avoid them like the black death.
I'm merely a humble financial tart, my money goes where the banks/building societies pay me the most interest to move it to. Co-op offers me a 7% regular saver so £250/mth of my savings goes there, when it matures off it goes again.5 -
Well the second agent hasn't got back to me so I'll call them back today with a view to progressing it to another complaint. This company is beyond hopeless.Alexland said:Well that coop agent never got back to me so I am back on hold waiting to raise it with the next agent.0 -
Put a complaint in writing and submit it via secure message, branch or post (make clear you expect to be compensated for the stamp additionally if you do this).
That'll stop the runaround.0
