Hopefully all my purchases in October qualify  ;)
  • I have received an email from HSBC this afternoon.

The way it reads to me, it would appear that I have to opt-in (again?) by the end of this month (October 2024) to get cashback for November purchases. 🤔

I have opted-in again and received confirmation for doing so.

  • I opted in already and took a screenshot of the confirmation and today I also received the same email as you.

I got an email notifying me about this yesterday. It said opt in by Oct 31st start receving cashback from November. But when i click the opt-in link, it says the offer runs from 1st October. So does this mean i can start collecting cashback for the remainder of October, or do i need to wait until November to start getting cashback?

Yes, same happened when I clicked the opt-in link with confusing information regarding dates.

There is nothing to indicate I’ve qualified and/or earning cashback in the app/online banking/latest credit card statement.

I didn't get the original email invitation in September, and only discovered the offer by chance. Logged on to the app and there it was, so I opted in and the app confirmed I was registered from day one.

I received the '£50 cashback – don’t miss out!email the other day, and wonder if it was only sent to people who didn't receive the original one? I also clicked on the 'Opt in now' link again to be on the safe side. It does acknowledge that recipients may already have opted in, so hopefully it's just a glitch and everyone will receive their cashback for the period from when they first registered.
  • I’ve had an hsbc visa cc for a year but didn’t receive an invitation email or pop up in the app?

    Any idea why I haven’t?

I did opt out of marketing messages I think, maybe that’s it or is there some other selection criteria?

Tried online chat last night but eventually was asked to ring hsbc during opening hours so that will be my next step.

Per the MSE article it's a limited offer to eligible customers, if you weren't offered it, you simply didn't qualify. I was sent it and I have opted out of marketing messages.

The first offer was sent to approx 900k customers and is only for Visa customers

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
