Yes, the pop-up appeared in the app this morning for me too. 👍🏻Theleak250 said:I did not get an email, but I did get a pop up in the app.1 -
The terms state for groceries:
Online food shopping and convenience stores - what about actual shopping in store at the likes of Tesco etc - is that included?
Excluded are discount stores - is that what Aldi & Lidl are classed as?0 -

Excluded are discount stores - is that what Aldi & Lidl are classed as?It's very clumsy. I think the intention is to exclude shops like B&M, Home Bargains, Poundland etc which sell groceries as part of a wider offer of discount goods, not to exclude supermarkets.I'd be very surprised if any supermarket (regardless of value proposition) was excluded. I presume M&S Food tills use a different MCC to the department store ones?0 -
Was pleased to spot this offer on MSE today. I didn't get an email, but checked on the app and it was there. Five qualifying purchases per month required in my case - may have to resort to buying individual bananas at Morrisons if push comes to shove, but otherwise shouldn't be too difficult to achieve the maximum cashback. It's a very welcome bonus, given I only took the card out in the first place a couple of months ago to benefit from the introductory £25 cashback offer.

I've got this offer but I still have a 0% balance on my HSBC card. I've never used a BT card for anything else. If I start using it for groceries, and I pay that off + minimum for BT each month, would the 0% for the remaining balance still stand?01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0
03.07.2023 - CC (0%) £9,859 / Loan £0 / Savings £10,1100 -
I'd like to know this too, only had the card for about 6 months as used it for a BT only. I've had the offer with minimum 3 transactions.jokono said:I've got this offer but I still have a 0% balance on my HSBC card. I've never used a BT card for anything else. I've done this with a Barclaycard so can't say for sure that HSBC work the same but AFAIK all credit card issuers should apply payments to highest interest rate first, so your repayments would pay purchases first
The important thing to remember is to wait for the statement to be generated before repaying the purchases. Then pay the higher amount of either purchases or minimum payment.
This is how I did it with Barclaycard to effectively never repay the BT until the 0% ended as each month I made purchases greater than the minimum payment.1 -
I’ll be using my credit card to pay for car parking, as that seems to be included. Prices for parking near me range from 80p to £5.50, depending on duration. Also, I might take advantage of bus travel as that still has a £2 cap if I need to pop to town. Most of my grocery shopping is online so that should cover the rest of the transaction eligibility per month.HHUK said:Was pleased to spot this offer on MSE today. Hi, thank you for raising a conversation on this. I got this offer and spoke to HSBC online chat as having opted in, I didn't receive any confirmation that I had. They did say I had opted in successfully.
What is confusing me is the minimum number of transactions, of which mine is 10. Does this mean that I have to make 10 qualifying transactions before the transaction that do count for cashback are registered? Or that the first 10 also count but I have to make a least 10?0 -
Make a least 10 qualifying transactions and then they all qualify for cashback. Nine or fewer and no cashback.1
