Morning all. Just having brew one.
It must be a Yang day Round. I completed wordle in two and connections with two lives left.
I'm looking after DGD2 today so not sure what else will get done.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning all,
Up and brew 1 supped. Awake in good time for the weekday alarm clock, then lay listening to the torrential rain and crashing of thunder. I was glad that I actually wasn’t going out in it.
One load in the wm. Not sure what the rest of the day will involve. DH has claimed the study so that will be him sorted with the laptop for the day. I probably need to fly downstairs but I do seem to find myself easily distracted by pictures of autumn coloured wool and dress making material…. We are out this evening with friends as a belated birthday celebration for DH who likes to string out his birthday. Mine can pass without notice for all that it bothers me!
I will wordle and connect in friendly competition with DD later, but I do like to know my likely success rate before I start. If Round finds it easy, I generally haven’t got a hope!
Have a lovely day, especially all those helping HB and her Beloved celebrate in style.4 -
Brew 2 supped. Breakfast eaten. Book finished and added to bag to be returned to M.

Hope you have a wonderful wedding @Honey_Bear xSending hugs for the bad back @Cloth_of_Gold - your moving back pain sounds similar to mine as well as the on and off pain. Was working yesterday all day, so no real flying done apart from washing DS1's PE and school shirts. Lots of technology issues at the start of the day meant that I had no idea what I was teaching the class until around 9am (the class had been tasked with silent reading whilst I battled with 2 different laptops - one worked for one thing and one for another and the class 1:1 and headteacher printed out things that should have already been done but weren't). All of the mental load of trying to take everything in at high speed (my brain isn't as good at this as it used to be) meant that I was exhausted when I got home, despite having a generally lovely day as the class were so well-behaved. I was in bed early last night. So, WM on again this morning and at least a couple more loads in the basket that need doing today too. We're off to a park meet-up this afternoon with a few of the children and parents in DS1's year-group (started secondary this year) to try to help them make some more friends. Fingers crossed the weather holds off for this and people turn up (always a worry that you'll be the only one there in these situations).I also need to do the meal plans for the week. It is DS1's birthday on Thursday, so Friday is a treat meal with one of his friends and we're off to McD's. Need to find out what he'd like on his actual birthday, as it seems only right he gets to choose. I must check I have the ingredients in to make his birthday cake.A major road near us is closed all weekend due to bridge repairs (it was closed last weekend too and caused absolute chaos as all the traffic was diverted through the local villages), so I'm hoping to either try and do the food shopping online or go on Monday.Managed to do all 4 lines on connections today, which I'm chuffed with, and did wordle in 4.Happy flying everyone.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20175

well, I've been out today with friend and her hubby they took me here and I had brunch and a coffee; full English plus I get G's black pudding because he doesn't like it. We looked round the shops and I bought some xmas cards which support our local hospice (I support my local hospice because my sister was in a hospice for the end) but in one shop (and a thank you email will be sent) I started to feel unwell tummy wise so they gave me a drink and I took a tablet... I've had 3 loperamide now.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear4 -
Hope your tummy settles soon Valli.
Well done on the walking Kaz.
Before DGD2 arrived, I did dailies, walked Poppet and painted a new raised planter. Rest of day was spent playing. She's gone home now but will be back tomorrow for her regular sleepover.
I'm planning tomorrow to do more fence/planter painting if the weather stays dry.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Good morning 😊
It has been a busy few days!
Early hours of Friday morning, I realised big cat had caught 'something' that was squeaking loudly. I banished him to the garden. Little cat followed so we shut the kitchen door to contain them!
Later, when I moved the buggy I saw droppings 😱 And they were too big for mice!! I have home emergency on my house insurance, so pest control were called.
In the meantime, DD1 stayed over on Friday night with DGS. She had offered to sleep downstairs with him, but I said no - then explained why. DH was relegated to the sofa, and she slept in with me. DGS slept on the new kiddy blow up bed. OMG - that is the noisiest bed ever! Every time he moved, it creaked. And he moves a lot!!
Pest control arrived at about 7:30 Saturday am. He agreed it wasn't mice. We went into the kitchen and I had the fright of my life as there was a dead rat on the floor by the sink!!! DH had just been playing in the kitchen with DGS, sitting on the floor not 2 feet away. We all swear it couldn't have been there long!! It was a baby one, and we think the cat had brought it in from outside. Bait has been laid anyway, so we shall see 😬
We went to parkrun - I took DGS so I didn't run. It was already a beautiful warm day at 8:30 along the seafront.
Then we took DGS to meet DGD 🥰 He, at 2, is like a tornado wherever he goes. DS managed to get a few nice photos, then we took him home. My DD's spent the afternoon together, and we babysat the tasmanian devil 😂 Luckily he slept for 2 hours!
Dinner was cooked for 7 of us, and DD1 left at about 8:30. I love them dearly, but the relief when they leave is real! 😂
Anyhow - I have been awake since 7am (unlike me on a Sunday!). I am listening to the rain with a cuppa in bed. Wordle & connections done.
I am going to potter today, I think. I was hoping to go to the allotment, but that does seem likely at the moment!
HB I hope you are having the best weekend, and that this rain is staying away!
Have a good day all!6 -
Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, taken meds, turned calendars over, opened curtains, completed Wordle in five, and completed Connections. Lost two lives initially and then solved it. Woot woot.
Saturdailies were completed yesterday morning. Chilled in the afternoon reading and Sudokuing. Then closed the curtains and settled down to watch Strictly.
I binned my birthday flowers. That was the only extra done.
First brew is going down a treat. It's a morning of misty fruitfulness. Very autumnal. Very calming.
Have a good day.
