BTW, do people do the easy, medium or hard connections (or all 3)?
6 -
Morning all.
CoG - I didn't know there were options on connections. Today I only got the yellow line, completed wordle in five.
I doubt I'll get much flying done this morning before going out for the day with friends.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
i do the New York Times one CoG, only 1 as far as i know. I think most of us do that. I’ve got one line today, so far.
Up ridiculously early as our train is at 9:05 …. off to York. I showered before my meds so i was out of DDs way.
CoG i have a feeling this might not be an option but try line drying in the sunshine, sunshine is brilliant for bleaching out stains.
I put some aired laundry away <<<<< flying 😉

Morning all xx
CoG - I didn't know there were options on Connections either. Are you looking at the New York Times Connections?
Jazee - snap! I only got the yellow line too. And completed Wordle in five.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, sploshed bleach down the loo, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, supped a brew, as well as the little things: opened the curtains, taken my meds, flipped over the calendars.
As usual I will feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off for work.
No news on Vin Diesel yet. I'm still working out the heating in the hire car. I can 🥶 or 🥵 .... no in-between; and my heart stops when it cuts out at traffic lights (being eco friendly)! Many years ago I had a Viva did that regularly - only it wouldn't start again!
Heyho. Have a good day.

I'm sorry your Plymouth friend is going a bit incommunicado CoG. It's hard when people shut themselves off, and worrying, because as far as I'm concerned I'd rather see them but that's probably selfish when they want to be left alone. I was once told a friend who was in a hospice was too tired to see me, but I asked if I could pop my head around the door just to give her a wave, did that, her face lit up, she waved back and I said I'd be back the next day. I'm so glad I did because she died during the night. I miss her and think of her pretty much every day. I hope she knew how much she was loved, not just by me but by Belovéd as well.As for Connections I do have a stab at Medium every day but I'm thinking of opting for Easy because I'm carp at it. For those that haven't seen it the options are below the Submit / Deselect line. One line acheived so far today which is about normal but I'll come back to it a bit later when I need a rest when I sometimes get a second. I can never, ever understand what the connection is on the fourth line, so if I don't get the third I'm stuffed.First load swishing through the WM as it's due to be hot and sunny today. I will also, at some point today, wash the pile of dusters that need it and the really lovely four tops (reach out, reach out ...) that are cluttering up the draining board in the scullery-type area. It's not a scullery but I don't know what else to call that bit of deadend corridor outside the shower room where the WM etc is. Out of sight etc. They've been there for at least 10 days and I really want to wear them this weekend.I went to pick up the meat order yesterday and now have two gammons and a chicken to deal with which will take most of today, although I have a lot of dusting and vacuuming to do alongside that, and more bread to make. I'm not sure the two white loaves I made yesterday are going to be good enough. I'll find out when I slice them later. Over-proved and underbaked I think. But I've worked out how to make a loaf for the vegan, so I'm pleased about that. Our lovely painter and decorater squeezed in two days to do the really scruffy front wall and lightwells in time for this weekend and I very foolishly tried to clean the front steps, which were minging, with a bucket of biological washing liquid in hot water which has worked rather well, but also ate some of his new paintwork. Serious grovelling required today when he comes back to finish off and collect his dues. He likes my coffee, so I may have to bribe him into forgiving me with a mug or three. There's a lot to be done, but I'd be really cross with myself if I forgot to do something that I'd prepped for like the sausage rolls. Flaky pastry made and free-range sausage met sourced, etc, all that kind of work done already. I found a fig roll in the box with the spare kettle the other day, planned to go with the cheese and paté feast on Saturday evening. Absolutely no idea what else is lurking in the other nine boxes in my office but there will be stuff, lots of stuff, I've forgotten about.Better is good enough.6

Good morning everyone! 👋I've never played connections before, so thought I'd have a go today. Like others, I only managed the first yellow line today on the NYT site. I also failed at wordle - I got the starting letter wrong. Looking forward to trying them both again tomorrow though.Did one school run instead of 2 this morning as DS1 (in year 7, so old enough to walk to school alone) was being rude to everyone, so I told him he had to walk on his own (ended up running to the end of our road with his forgotten phone in the end anyway, as I'm still a bit anxious about his going it alone with no means of contact for emergencies). One very small load of washing on including his PE top, so that it will be ready for tomorrow (he left it at school on Friday by mistake).DS2 enjoyed one of the muffins I made yesterday at breakfast time, so I'm pleased he's got at least one healthy thing in his tummy this morning, and it's full of protein from the nut butter and ground almonds, so should keep him full until lunchtime.I've cleaned down the worktops in the kitchen again, and gathered all of the laundry. DH is off work today, so hoping to go to a bed shop this morning as we desperately need a new mattress. Fingers crossed we find one we like, as my poor back isn't recovering at the moment, and I think the mattress is contributing.@Cloth_of_Gold fingers crossed the Napisan helps. Also, don't be afraid to leave it in longer than it says on the packet if you're soaking it in a bucket - I have happily left things in overnight. As Valli says, the sunshine should also help. Could your back problems be caused by lifting and twisting at the same time? This is one of the most common ways of injuring a back and I've been guilty of doing this with my shopping bags in the past. I'm also not that old and never thought I'd be suffering from a bad back either, but am pretty sure I'm perimenopausal, and this definitely makes us more prone to slower healing.Bought a banana bag the other week as I keep on collecting free bananas on Olio, and thought I'd give them a try at lasting a bit longer as some were actually a little bit green. It's been a complete fail, and the stems have actually grown mould on them (not sure if it's due to humidity in our kitchen). So, I have 3 bananas that I either need to chop and freeze, or make into banana bread today. I already have one banana bread in the freezer, so may go with the first option as I assume that I could always thaw it to make banana bread with at a later date - anyone done this and know the answer?Well off to look up the bed shop address now as they open in 15 minutes and DH has people coming over after lunch to quote for our flat roof to be redone.Happy flying everyone x

Morning all.
DH wasn't well yesterday evening with the first signs of another chest infection, so of course I was awake at 4.30. As soon as the phone lines opened, I got an appointment for him at 9.30 at the GP surgery, so he now has steroids and antibiotics on top of his usual cocktail of meds. Hopefully he will be well on the way to recovery by the time we are due to go on holiday on Tuesday! Anyway, it meant that I completed several Spanish lessons before breakfast!!!
I also did Wordle in three and Connections (probably the easy version?) with one life left - I actually got the purple (ie most difficult) line first, so there's hope for you, HB
I have a long list of jobs to do, so will crack on with those and(with apologies to Natty) ignore this week's Flying tasks. I sorted out another box of photos yesterday, and several went in the bin. Still a lot more to do...
Rosie refused to walk more than 100 yards with me yesterday before striking for the 3rd time, so I gave up and allowed her to come home. I don't want to drag her along by the lead and be done for dog cruelty. We'll try again today.
We have the excitement of the Bomb Squad in our area this morning, at a house where there was trouble a year or two ago. According to the police, "There is no threat to the wider community." Well, that's a relief.

Mattress decided upon and ordered - approximately 3 weeks to wait for it to be delivered, but it may be here earlier. Used a local independent, and it's all natural materials too, which is much better. Trying all of the mattresses out made me realised just how badly our current one does at supporting me comfortably. Bonus is, it was cheaper than the ones advertised on his website too.Washing all hung up to dry, and just going to have a bit of lunch before trying some more flying.Yay for the phone now working @kazwookieI hope your husband feels better soon @ionafanEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20176

*Healing vibes* for Mr Ionafan.Four tops ('... I'll be there with a love that'll see you throooooooooough) hand-washed, three loads through the WM and everything's outside drying because it's 23 degrees today and will go to 24 tomorrow, so yay. All up to date with laundry and that's it until next week. Can't be doing with faffing about with it over the next few days.Smoked gammon simmered, cooled and fridge'd, the unsmoked is soaking. I'll simmer that one tomorrow and then bake both of them, along with roasting the chicken all in one hit in the afternoon. And roast some peppers at the same time.Another batch of Madelaine dough is chilling in the fridge and I'll freeze that after I've blobbed it on to a silicone mat tomorrow so that they can be baked fresh on Sunday. Until I started making them myself I'd never realised that when they're fresh they're crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I've always loved them but this does take them to the next level so it's worth it. Buttercream icing made for the coffee and walnut cake, frozen alongside the sponges.Listy drawn up of the things I need to defrost on Friday and then again on Saturday evening. My biggest problem is the large black cat. I found him tucking into coffee flavoured buttercream icing - in the mixing bowl after I'd emptied it obviously - which means he can't be trusted with anything at all and he's loose in the house overnight. The small tortoiseshell cat is shut in my office ROD overnight and her curiousity would probably get the better of her, too. Not sure where to put it all. Probably in the oven for the non-meat things and warn the breakfast cook that he can't switch it on in the morning without emptying it first.Delighted to find a recipe in the Panny guide that both vegans and everyone else should enjoy - Sundried Tomato and Green Olive bread. I let it bake in the tin for and I'll slice it horizontally before slicing it vertically for sandwiches so the bit where the blade came out can be tasting samples for Belovéd and I. Such hardship. Something more will have to come out of the freezer tomorrow to cram that in because it's not a bread that will keep well with no oil or fat in it.Sufficient grovelling to the painter and decorater with copious amounts of coffee for mucking up his paintwork to be forgiven. He's asked that I leave it alone for three days, after reminding us that the first day he was here the gardener mowed the grass too. Oops.I've noticed a lot of dust around the house on lightswitches and in corners where the guests aren't going to roam so they won't see. I just don't have the energy to do it all, and I'm not going to try. I'd rather have a slightly dusty house and not be exhausted, than a spik and span place but be so over-tired I can't enjoy myself this weekend. Baking brownies is more important than dusting.Better is good enough.6
