Are you seriously saying you will refuse to pay for the energy you have used if it is correctly billed? Is this a general thing or just related to the Tomato admin?
No - somewhat tongue-in-cheek  ;)  In the (unlikely?) event I am correctly billed I will pay.  However, given the history of Tomato's billing even before they went under, and now removed access...

My underlying point was, the administrator's note is clear they will only go for costs that can be reasonably recovered, which in this case might be relevant?

Probably the worst bit for Tomato customers is going to be some dodgy debt collector getting their details and making up bills on top of way Tomato itself sometimes did random billing, anyone on their database considered fair game in an industry that itself is corrupt to its core and has spent decades ripping customers off...

That is their statutory obligation. They need to act in the best interests of creditors, so where the debtor doesn't have the means to pay, or is frustrating debt enforcement, then they would not expend time and money chasing. Just register a default with the credit reference agencies, apply for a CCJ (with interest and costs added to the claim) / sell the debt to a debt collection agency for a fraction of what is owed so they definitely recover something.
So even if they do the bare minimum, it's going to impact your credit worthiness if you do not pay. It seems reasonable to assume that the vast majority of Tomato Energy customers will pay their final bill and have the financial means to do so, so this is not something they will simply write off.

Given the number of co's a certain person has directorships with. Would not be surprised if he does not already have one.

When will we find out about our final bill? Will the administrator send me one, or will I randomly get a knock on the door one day from a debt collector demanding who knows how much? I mean I only have about £25 to pay and would be happy to pay it as soon as possible.

BG declined to assist with the billing, so it is on the administrators to bill you. They should do this before taking further action such as selling the debt. It might take them some time as they've expressed difficulties accessing the necessary data in their proposals document.

Anyone got Warm Home Discount successfully passed through Tomato to current supplier (BG)?
When claimed via gov helpline, they've asked for supplier and account number held in August 2025 and assured it will finally somehow finds its way to the current provider...

    Same here (for my sister).

She moved at the end of October just before they went into administration.

I have ended up with Good Energy too. Best by far for TOU if you don’t have an EV. Their customer service is outstanding so far (once I found someone good who responds to all issues within 24 hrs).

Their SEG rate + referrals scheme mean I’ll pay less than nothing for all my energy use this year. Less than tomato even! Coupled with getting my energy for free from Sept of last year this is about as good a result as possible given the mess & stress they left customers in. 😄

Which Good Energy tariff? I can't see anything TOU except their EV tariff. Or is that open to anyone even without an EV?
