Thanks - will take a look.tlcgrantham said:
Take a look at EDF FreePhase Dynamic. Similar but simpler and less risk than Agile. Depending on your region cheaper as well.decentchap100 said:I switched from BG to Octopus fairly quickly. On Intelligent Go for now but as I don't charge my car at home much I will give it a month or so and see if I'm actually better off going to Home Energy with a lower flat rate for any time of day.
Or possibly give Agile a try. It seems to be performing better than last winter at the moment.
Got my first (and final) BG bill yesterday but still no final bill from Tomato so there's about 6 weeks worth of usage that I haven't paid for yet.0 -
I spoke on the chat with British gas yesterday and was told twice my final bill would include both British gas and Tomato energy. But it obviously didn't. Are British gas responsible for issuing the TE final bill? And when should we get it. ?0

I was also Tomato, forced to British Gas (BG), and moved as soon as I could. My Final Bill from BG not only had nothing from Tomato, but also only charged me the standing charge for the 10 days or so - no meter readings or electricity use charge.
Unsurprisingly I paid it very quickly
I trust BG's dictionary is the same as mine regarding "Final". I can only guess they are having issues getting info / meter readings etc. from Tomato RIP?
I see Tomato have appointed administrators - unsure if they will bother chasing individual customers or if it should be sorted by BG and the SoLR process?0 -

They don't have the resources to chase individual customers themselves.Edit: Just having a read through of the administrators' proposals and saw:
So BG is not collecting anything owed to Tomato, despite what it seems to have told some customers. It's actually a well written document as far as they go, and well worth a read. The financials in 2024 and 2025 tell it all, Farouk and co transformed a profitable company with a 15% profit margin and £64m turnover in 2023 into a loss making company in 2024 by almost doubling both cost of sales and administrative expenses, while growing revenue by far less than this. The Ofgem £1.5m fine was just the straw that broke the camel's back, and they were significantly loss-making far in advance of the new customer ban.Interestingly Senapt appears to have withdrawn access to the billing platform and withheld customer data, so that would explain the delay.4 -
My first final bill only had standing charges on it too, so I checked my meter reading history and they took a smart meter reading on the 18th and then said I gave them the same reading on my last day. Which I didn't. So I gave them the same reading I gave Home energy as my opening reading and they sent me a new final bill. What I want to know is why they weren't sent that opening reading. Also I gave TE a final reading from the 10th Nov, which I also put on my BG account when I was able, but that seems to have disappeared from my account. Does anyone know how to run an energy firm?diyeco said:I was also Tomato, forced to British Gas (BG), and moved as soon as I could. "Does anyone know how to run an energy firm?" Just wait until AI driven accountants take over, prime directive to keep the company solvent...1

I see Tomato have appointed administrators - unsure if they will bother chasing individual customers or if it should be sorted by BG and the SoLR process? It can take weeks for the opening reading to be validated and passed to the old supplier. BG should not have billed without it though. I've seen before that suppliers will rush out an estimated final bill, which later has to be disputed.0 -
They hardly rushed ! It had been six weeks. I gave them the same reading I gave Home energy., so hopefully it's ok Mind you I don't think their on line advisors are human and appear to spout any old rubbish.masonic said:Bobohead said:

They rushed it out when they realised they were close to having to pay you £40 for not producing it within 6 weeks. If it isn't a correct bill you should ask them for your Guaranteed Standards of Performance compensation. Octopus were caught doing the same last year and were persuaded to compensate affected folk. Delays communicating the validated change of supply reading are generally the responsibility of the new supplier, but the old supplier is responsible for the compensation.Bobohead said:
