I think that if I had to choose I would opt for weekly + monthly + annual views as against daily or real time only. Horses for coursesTelegraph Sam

You already have access to that from the api from the daily pulls Octopus do. The mini supliments that data with real time data that hasn't been pulled yet. This is going off topic though, and for balance, it appears Tomato pull data from meter every few hours rather than once a day like Octopus.1

I wonder if that’s because they have fewer customers?Bendo said:You already have access to that from the api from the daily pulls Octopus do. For Tomato Lifestyle when they say no exit fees do they really mean it?
There is a 50/50 chance that I might be moving home next year so could possibly need to cancel. No charge for cancelling? Struggling to find any detailed terms and conditions for Tomato Lifestyle.
Also I am currently with E.ON. Does this mean I would need a new smart meter or continue using the meter that I have?
Thanks.0 -

Does this mean I would need a new smart meter or continue using the meter that I have? One of the selling points of smart meters is that you can switch suppliers quickly and easily. So going from E.ON to Tomato won't be a problem - I haven't needed a new meter after switching to Octopus, and they are getting regular readings. The older SMETS1 meters would go dumb when switching suppliers, but most of these have either been replaced or enrolled in to the SMETS2 system.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

People do say there are some issues with switching back after short period of time - they had refusal from Tomato 😅 no fee, but refusal.. but by the look of it these people haven't paid the bill. Also seen some people who were very unhappy because of the little bit wrong billing and received permission to leave 😅SVts said:For Tomato Lifestyle when they say no exit fees do they really mean it?

So yeah, free but if you join prepare yourself for incorrect billing, lack of customer services, possibly not being able to see what you've used.. if you're happy with it - and have SMET2 come and join!3 -
Is the download app that you refer to what is shown if I look under My Energy Use on the Octopus website (@ Bendo)?
I anticipate being booted off this forum (rightly) for straying off topicTelegraph Sam

Has anyone worked out the 30 minutes error on mywatts yet?
I've emailed Tomato but no reply.
Mywatts definitely shows the higher rate for usage up to 6:00AM0 -
After reading this entire thread I've decided to put my switch to Tomato on hold.Newbie_John said:

Btw what is MyWatts? Is it the Tomato app?
Also is there a third party app that allows you to view your energy use from the likes of E.On and British Gas?0 -
You can use Bright to monitor usage.
Mywatts is like the equivalent of the Octopus website which shows your bills and usage.1
