I emailed them for their decision and they have AGREED to me moving and them cancelling all usage ££ on my 2 accounts - though they wish to charge the 40p a day Standing Charges for each.

It is not a good sign for their confidence in being able to get through this period though if they are just walking away form this much revenue.
For your own protection you really want something from them that specifically confirms they are writing off your debt for the energy used, not merely that they are unable to back bill for the energy consumed as that is not a correct statement and if they fall into administration I would not expect the administrators to let that mistake stand.

Email from TE (on top of other recent ones)

The team got back to me and advised that we can do no backbilling for consumption, but we would still need bill for the standing charges for the duration of your supply with us.
They have set it that you are free to switch both meters away without objection, so if you do initiate this currently, this is how we would proceed. I can even ask my colleague to get the invoices generated imminently for you should this be an acceptable resolution.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

    I replied with;

Thank You for your fast reply again.

Can you confirm how the changeover ending / start meter reading would be handled between me, TE and a new supplier please?

As you can see, I have submitted regular monthly (sometimes twice monthly) readings to TE - so I would be concerned if there was a future claim for usage based upon a "negotiated" changeover figure between TE and a new supplier as I am aware I would not then be able to challenge that figure.

I take it the 15% to 50% off agreement would apply to the standing charge?

    Best Regards

There is still some clarification to go before I am 100% happy moving away.

Do you know your actual HH consumption? Or just weekly/monthly meter readings?

I received my final TE bill today, 7 weeks after switching. They have not included standard of performance compensation, so I will see if they remember to pay 1 x £40 over the next week, and if not contact them to claim 2 x £40.

I have monthly readings (with pics) - sometimes two weekly.

I once offered for them to bill me at 17p for every unit to allow for the various TOU tariffs - but they couldn't even do that - except now they are happy to charge 0p for every unit.

    A strange bunch at TE

Except if they cant tell you what you have used, no doubt they can't tell the market what has been used to pay for it themselves.

I'm sure at some point you will end up with some form of bill...

That's why I'm demanding a clear email from them stating I owe nothing when I leave.

IF they later go under, it will be an amazing administrator who tries to backdate payment, if I have that email.

That's why I'm not going to wait until they lose their licence

The Data Collector (Gerry1's "mysterious third party") will know from your opening and closing meter readings. And so the industry will know.
Eventually the bill will need to be paid, most likely from Tomato's assets.

What happens if there are no assets available to settle the unbilled consumption? Say all of the assets are funnelled away into one of the other companies through inter-company service charges.
Who would bear the loss? The energy producers who sold to TE? Or the humble end consumer through inflated prices?

If I was to guess, I'd say the whosale market participants; it'll be written off as one more system loss. Tomato is too small (0.2% of households?) to make a ripple.

My first bill they took 15% everything, when they rebilled it wasn't deducted from the SC.
