Just noticed a interesting point on the saving sessions (free hour) & the figures provided.
According the Pete & the email today I have saved £4.87 in total over the 4 sessions.

Now for all of these I had a car on charge to boost savings. As I'm on IO the savings are based on daytime unit price 22.28p & not the 7p off peak which I was paying due to IO pricing as it had given me a schedule to charge over these periods.
So my real saying is far less than the figure given.. But it is still a saving & I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth over how octopus wish to display the savings.

I got an email an hour or so ago.

Not worth much as Agile prices are near zero, anyway.

Cheers. We're on an EV tariff and a free hour will save us 42p.

Are you thinking your machine will take in more water for the heavier load, therefore heating more water to 40C or less water to 60C? If so, I guess that closes the gap between the two. Instinctively one would think the 60C load will use more, but I wouldn't like to say for sure.

Have a look in the instruction manual it should tell how much water and electricity it uses for the different loads.

Ive managed to use about 14Kwh usefully.
  • 20p, 64p and 17p for the first three sesions for us, the fourth one happened on a day we were away, so nothing there. Today's should see a saving of around 24p at a guess, perhaps ever so slightly higher - that was with the oven heating to bake a batch of rolls, the DW running and the WM too. There isn't a whole lot more we can use electricity for to be honest!
