Money Moral Dilemma: Should us bridesmaids have to pay for the bride to attend her own hen parties?

  • When I was a bride my step daughter made the arrangements and my husband tot be paid for a spa day and dinner, the girls paid for any treatments. This made the day affordable for all concerned. They freely chose to book a lovely lunch there and paid for me, although the money had been lodged to cover it.
I would hate to put people in a position where they are doing something they don't necessarily want to do by choice especially if it is financially not viable - why two hen parties? It should be a night out not a holiday abroad and in the UK. It's about sharing time not who can spend the most!
