New: Amazon Barclaycard

Has anyone else been declined? I don't have a Barclaycard but previously had an Amazon card so was offered the £50 but after doing the soft search eligibility check apparently I don't qualify.
Never had any issues with the previous Amazon card and also currently have a Capital One card which I pay off IN FULL every month. Disappointed.0 -

NewDay had a prime 'platinum' and subprime 'classic' version of the Amazon cards they offered, so far Barclaycard are only offering one and it appears to be positioned as a prime offer. Perhaps a subprime one will be added to the mix eventually, perhaps not.No data from NewDay will have been sent to Barclays, so the only data they'll see is the same as they'd see for any closed credit card on a credit report. Amazon will know who had one but that's about it.1 -

Maybe I'll try again at some point, but having asked companies in the past I've been told unemployed is correct for my circumstances.0 -

Yes, I have two cards Pulse & Vanquis (Visa).
Both paid in full each month, Pulse is main spending card and Vanquis back up card, usually just Spotify subscription.
I prefer having one from each payment provider so had in mind to close the Vanquis and use Barclaycard as a replacement spare card, plus Amazon shopping.1 -

Approved for Amazon Barclaycard no problem, just took a few minutes.
Tried to register to use App - constantly unable to verify identity using App with passport etc - despite having done it with other accounts successfully many times. No other method of setting up until card & pin arrive.
Spoke to Barclaycard online 22/8/24 - they admitted there are currently problems with App registration not working properly! Also told me that Card & Pin will take 7/9 working days to arrive.
Not very impressed with Barclaycard so far and unable to use online while I wait for paperwork. Grrrr.0 -

No other method of setting up until card & pin arrive. You might find it worth persevering. I had quite a bit of difficulty getting the app to recognise my driving licence: it kept telling me that it couldn't detect a photograph. After several attempts and trying different lighting and angles, it did eventually accept one.Jordan72 said:
Also told me that Card & Pin will take 7/9 working days to arrive.FWIW, my card took less than a week to get here. I applied last Thursday evening and the card arrived yesterday (Wednesday). The PIN hasn't arrived in the post, but it might not be coming at all. Since I did manage to register the app, I don't need a printed PIN: I can see it in the app. (Interestingly, the app also told me the security code.)
