    Really p**sed off now

How long is it since your application was accepted? Mine took nearly a month to arrive. It may be that yours will still come.

Apparently still trying to fix the app
  • Well this has been an experience! I applied via Amazon for this Amazon Barclaycard and was accepted straight away. I used it, no problem but now I am trying to pay it off in full, as Martin always says.  I received the notification that it needed paying BUT the system has so many faults it won’t accept my Delta debit card. After 10 hours messaging them on two days I tried to pay it from my bank account into some weird suspense account, so remembering all the warnings on scams I paid just £1, as a test, needless to say this has never appeared in my account!  I asked the Amazon Exec for help but they just send me the same cut and paste email saying to contact Barclays it is nothing to do with them.  I asked Barclaycard for help and in the end I put in a complaint, which could take 56 days to process. I am now very upset all I want to do is pay my bill.  What have I learnt from this experience? I will never ever recommend anything from Amazon or Barclaycard.

when you do a faster payment from your bank account to are you sure you are using the correct account details as the Amazon barclaycard has a different account number and sort code from the regular Barclay card

You should be using account number 38550875 sort code 209967 with obviously the long 16 digit card number as your reference

Reminder not to send money to an account on the strength of a forum post - check your Barclaycard statement and the Barclaycard website:

I agree in principle. However, the web site might, in practice, be all that's available. I was rather surprised to find that the relevant bank details don't appear on my Amazon Barclaycard statement. This is all there is there:

It may be that this is because I have a DD set up to pay my statement balance in full, and text regarding other methods of payment is suppressed in these circumstances. But I've already found that a minor nuisance. I had a refund sent to my account, and Barclays offset that against the amount to be collected by DD. I wanted to pay that amount directly, to bring the total amount paid back to what it would have been. Not having the necessary bank details on my statement was a minor inconvenience. (I ended up making the payment in their app, by debit card.)

Not all providers print the details on statements any more, Natwest don't either. I would still advise checking your statement first and the provider's website second before setting up a payment. Finally if neither option yields then contact the lender.

Do not use payment details some third party has typed on the internet. Even if you ignore the possibility of a bad actor scamming people, it's quite possible that these details will not be the same forever or for everyone.
