@roundtuit - I am impressed. Obviously you are are very good poet. Having a poem that makes that much of an impact on people would be wonderful - even if it never goes beyond the wedding - but it probably will. Keep up the good work.5

@weenancyinAmerica thank you. 😊. My colleagues champion my poetry. When D had to have her beloved horse pts she asked for a poem. Everyone cried when they read it. And the stable owner had it printed and put up in the tack room. Then L asked for a poem for her daughter's 30th birthday. My supervisor asked for a poem for her son and partner who were getting married. Then D asked for a poem for a friend who'd had to have her horse pts. And then a poem for her friends who were getting married yesterday. She offers to pay me but I do it for fun and then bask in the reactions I receive. I never know if a poem is good or not until I deliver it. Thankfully my colleagues are very appreciative. As well as the more serious commemorative poems I create little verses which make my colleagues laugh. I was asked to write a 'poem' for our newest colleague. It made everyone laugh:
Chloe is our newbie.
Chloe has a tan.
Chloe is so young.
I could be her Nan.
Then everyone wanted their own verse. So, of course, I obliged. Even our only male colleague, who is quite serious, managed a smile when I read his out. Phew! And Am flicked Vs at me when I read hers out 🤣
Amanda is a Yorkie.,
All tha, and aye, and thee;
When she wears her favourite dress
She looks like a tree.
(Of course there is a story behind that 😊)

Then I'll get dressed and

Going to visit DB this morning 9.30 ish. I'll go from there to visit Pops and Babs (if they're in). I've asked DS if he can pop over this sfti or evening to pick up his DF's birthday card and present ready for tomorrow.
That's why I did my run to town yesterday- to free up today. And tomorrow it's forecast to be twot...bur I don't have to go out. Sorted 🙂

Round, you should get your poems together and have them printed, thinking along the lines of a photo book type thing, they sound wonderful.Sun is out here, cats are wandering around, local lifeboat day, so going to walk around local car boot first, see how leg / hip is going, then either come home or walk to lifeboat day and watch the goings on. Hip feels so much better, but is still niggling.Pork and noodles for dinnerHugs to all.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Wow Fayolle, that's an amazing day's flying. I hope you're enjoying a bit of downtime today. So pleased your mother's feeling positive about the home she's chosen Narco and let's hope that she enjoys it so much she can slowly heal. Ionafan, some days are just like that. Nothing goes right and they go from bad to worse. At least you had some good sausages on standby; that's what freezers are for imho.Today I am going to tackle the last corner of the sitting room. It's overwhelmed me for the past 10 days because I can't see how we can shift the heavy bit of furniture with the TV on it, and multiple leads from and to various bits of kit. I've settled on a plan that I think will work, so I'm quite relieved I've found a way forward. In the meantime over the past week I've been having a go at places that look really bad without actually expending much energy and it's paying off. I think I need to get my head around the idea of 5 minutes here and there sometimes can make a big difference.I had a terrible night's sleep too. I think it was the humidity.Better is good enough.6

Afternoon all,
Glad you are feeling better, Kaz.
Narc0, that certainly deserved a celebration.
Thank you, CoG. I just need to get on and buy a new one now! I’ll put it on a list😉
Horrendous traffic coming through the village, looks like an accident on the motorway, so drivers are using the unofficial cut through. DD is on her way back driving from her hols, so I am hitting the high anxiety levels, listening to the speeding through traffic.
Spent a couple of hours at the allotment today, too hot to be there any longer. I have finished sorting out the harvest and jotting a vague meal plan - much spinach / chard based meals coming up! Also have the French beans, courgettes and summer squashes, the last mange tout and the first runners. Not sure that there is a plan for this afternoon. Until DD comes back with her washing, of course!6 -
Hello all. Have skim read so hope you're all ok.
Today I have done dailies, walked Poppet, done two wash loads which are on line, hoovered through, dusted the LR including a la HB pulling out the TV unit and cleaning all that minging corner, prepped for DGD2s arrival later and done more editing for DH. Just stopped for a cuppa. It is unfortunately too hot to be outside.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
