Morning all,
Dropped DS off at his god parents last night. Got back at 9pm then hoovered and mopped bathroom floor and did an hour of ironing. Almost caught up now.
Busy day today, meeting 2 different people but should have a small window to do some flying.......Wet Wednesday - those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms

Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade and curtain pole!!!
Level Three...
Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! And replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!!
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
Extra Task Listl- Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames!
- 30 minutes ironing.. you love me & you know it!
- Grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house.. rubbish or charity shop or to donate to a friend!

Fayolle - I recommend sh@rks and you don't have a charging unit, just plug in for a while in a normal socket. No bags either.
The charging unit on my stick Dy$0n is hardly any bigger than a phone charger and plugs straight into a 13A socket. You don't need to install the plastic charging station: my machine just stands up in a corner near the socket.
I woke at 5.45 in need of parrots, made myself a cuppa, did both Wordle and Connections in 10 minutes, and then went back to sleep until 8.15. I can hear DH prepping breakfast now - early for him!
Today I have some financial admin to sort, and I must hunt out the superglue to mend the blind cords. I am due to meet K on her way to work at 11.50 to pick up the girls, then I have to stay with them for 3 hours at a holiday club. After that I'll bring them back here and we'll walk Rosie.
Somehow I must also fit in the shopping I didn't do yesterday because DS1 came round to collect the houseplants that I had been tending while they were on holiday (and was impressed that they looked so healthy!) and stayed for 2 hours. I was able to show him the first album of family photos that I have been sorting. He has given me 10/10 for the way I've done it, so I can shortly move on to the next generation in confidence - phew.
Hope everyone's day is calm and peaceful xxx7 -
Sorry your grandkids are driving you mad Kaz. Has Cat 3 shown up yet? I hope he is nipping into the conservatory overnight. We've got one that would love to stay out overnight and I doubt we'd ever see her again if she were allowed to roam free.Foyelle I swear by my Dy$on stick cleaner, and Beloved fitted it in a nook that was a useless bit of wall outside the bathroom and just plugged it into a socket. It's light, and that makes all the difference in a house of stairs. I've also got a V@x which I got from an offer on this website about six months ago, and it's okay but extremely heavy. I keep it on the top floor because that's the one that needs most attention most frequently. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to recommend it - it's going back to the makers on Friday to be fixed under guarantee .... Belovéd keeps the old Dy$on we had at the chalet behind his office door. It's very reliable. I just get reconditioned stuff, I never buy anything new if I can help it, so it depends on what's available on the day I decide I need to replace something.Today I have- tackled my desk for the first time since before 25 July, which I know because I found a pile of receipts I hadn't entered on my spreadsheets. Ooops.- paid on outstanding bill now that they've issued a credit note for over-charging me.- phoned the vet's surgery and got a wrongly issued bill cancelled. I'm rather tired of having to point out I'm being over-charged at the moment. Having managed a complaints department I am scrupulously polite so the problems get sorted without any bad feeling but it's tedious.- packed up the V@x mentioned above in a different vacuum cleaner maker's box which I found on the street some days ago and phoned UPS to come and pick it up for its repair. Or replacement. I don't mind which. I wouldn't say no to a refund to be honest.- Sorted well over 50 bits of paper with notes on that need to be organised into a plan- had another look at a pension that's going to kick in in 20 months time (can't quite get my head around the idea of being 70) which makes even less sense now than when I first read it- sorted out the dog walker's money for August and a few other things that have needed doing for a while. My right arm is aching a bit from all the scrubbing etc last week, so I've been taking it a bit easier the past couple of days. Last night I thought, I know, I'll put the sofa and cushion covers back on my sofa, that's a bit of a wrestle but it needs to be done. And while I'm at it, I'll take the cover and cushion covers off one of the other sofas (there are three small ones in the sitting room). An hour and a half later I was completely knackered, and had also discovered why that particular sofa is a complete nightmare to move - one of the casters had come off, probably some time ago. I don't move furniture around very often for a good reason. Belovéd fixed it this morning. I heart Belovéd, but my right arm is even more knackered than it was at the start of yesterday.I need a break.Better is good enough.6

Fayolle, they are here until Saturday, but OH said he hope they come back today from the beach and tell us they want to go on Friday, they are his immediate family.Cat 3 we now know from my leaflets though letter boxes where he is but he is currently refusing to let me anywhere him. He is in the field 3 doors down in a 8 to 10 foot bramble / nettle bush. OH also got him on the wildlife cam at 2.20am this morning in the conservatory!! so at least I know he is around, he looks clean and not injured. Such a worry.I have hoovered the whole houseDone all the binsOH did DW and sorted kitchen while I was out walking, I took one look in there this morning, burst into tears, put my boots on and walked.........................OH was later heard tell his daughter I was not a bulter / waitress / slave, she or the older children were to pull their weight.I also shouted at their dog as it still keeps barking at me for no reason, I love dogs, but enough is enough.Hugs / spoons availableBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Delurking to say good for your OH kaz - you do not deserve to be treated like a skivvy.
Hopefully his words will hit home and they will start to muck in for the remainder of their stay. x6 -
Firstly Kaz i am sending you a gentle hug. I am glad DH spoke up for you.
Small panic earlier when DH got a message from DS2 saying he was being sent home from work due to potential unrest. He later messaged to say that he is home and safe. Thinking about everyone else caught up in this awful situation.
Had a lovely lunch out with DS1 and a 45 minute phone catch up with my brother. I also managed to do some work and have helped DH do a job application.
Very little Flying today, but not stressing about it.7 -
Kaz, hugs, I am amazed that you have energy to offer out spoons. Keeping fingers crossed that maybe a Thursday departure gets on the cards. Glad you have found Cat 3, but maybe tell him enough is enough, and he needs to come home. Maybe when your houseguests have gone, he will return.
Ok, Round, prepare to be amazed…HHI done this evening on a school night. And yesterday I actually forgot that I had cleaned the windows in DD’s room. Amazed now, or what? 🤣
Thank you for the vacuum cleaner thoughts. Being able to use a regular socket will make all the difference in the choice. There was me thinking it would be like a car battery charger.
New wool is out of the bag it arrived in and ready to be started. DD is eyeing up more knitting projects for me, and the wool colours are so pretty… I can feel myself dangerously near another wool purchase.6 -
Kaz I'm hugely relieved you know where Cat 3 is, and not surprised he's left home while the bad-mannered hordes are with you, together with their barky dog. It's August, the nights aren't cold, he's coming home when things are quiet so he knows exactly where he really lives, he's just living his best life while the evenings are light and he can be a bit of a stop out, I'm sure. Roll on Thursday / Friday / Saturday when they leave and you can have your house and lives back.
Better is good enough.6 -
I've only skim read really so spoons, hugs etc to all needing them............I need to get in credit as I shall be needing some myself soon (again).
This week has passed fairly well; not enough flying really but I've done some, plus gardening, a bit of admin and also been to zumba, Pilates and swum - as well as watching lots of olympics.
This morning one of the stroke therapy team rang me to update on Mum; basically she is unwilling to engage with them and both the stroke team and rehab home staff suggest her needs would be better met with greater stability and consistency in a proper residential care home. Disappointing that she hasn't improved much at the rehab home; it hasn't been all that was suggested to us and that is partly due to staffing levels and her unwillingness. So on Saturday, DB and I are going to take her to look at the 2 care homes I have been round, hoping she can find enough enthusiasm to pick one as I refuse to choose for her and be forever blamed for "my children put me in here" although she will probably say that anyway. As DB has been visiting her in the last week, I inherit the unenviable task on Friday of preparing her for Saturday's visit as it is only fair to give her warning. To say I'm anxious about it would be an understatement. It is planning to be a very intense next few weeks.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Morning all.
Yesterday was paid stuff, dailies and two wash loads. I have plans today which kind of include flying. Whether I'll achieve this is in doubt.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6
