I was a bit late but did join you, Round. Thank you for the coffee 😊.
Went to the allotment. Got drenched in persistent drizzle. Where was that in the forecast? Came home after an hour, sorry pickings of just one courgette, as it was too cold and wet to contemplate anything else.
Downstairs flying is on my schedule until lunchtime. Silver lining and all that.6 -
Cheers Fayolle xx
HH Admin still to do. Instead I went outside and did QH weeding in the back garden. Filled the brown bin. They were big weeds!
Cooling down now watching the diving in front of the fan.

Did some rage cleaning and binning yesterday but it didn't last long 🤣
Just trying to keep up with basics is a struggle ATM but I'm writing lists constantly if that counts7 -
I've been AWOL for a few days as I've been sooooooo lazy watching the Olympics, and apart from that have only done the bare minimum of flying, just to keep things ticking over. I've only skim read so sorry if I don't comment on anything important - it's not because I don't care!@kazwookie sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you're better soon and nice of that lad to help you.@Narc0lepsy hope it went well today and that your mother likes at least one of the homes. My friend J's father, who died recently, had a similar experience 3 years ago when he was discharged from hospital, after having a heart attack, into what was sold as a short-term home where he would get intensive physio. According to J he was left in bed all day and when he came out after several weeks he had lost the limited mobility he had when he went into hospital and became house bound. Our friend in Plymouth has twice been into such a place and also received very little attention.@Fayolle, we used to have a corded Dyson but A started to find it too heavy to we replaced it with a reconditioned cordless Dyson which was very light (not that he ever used it
). It had very good suction but the battery life was poor and after about three years it gave up the ghost. My brother and his wife have a Shark and they said it was good so we bought one. It has two batteries so you can have one charged, ready for when the one you are using dies, for which I have been very grateful on many occasions. The suction isn't quite as good as the Dyson but perfectly acceptable and emptying it is a doddle, and no bag of course.
Yesterday I started to clean the bathroom but stopped to make lunch and didn't resume so finished it off this afternoon. This morning I took a bag of recycling down and then went to the bakery for our weekend pastries and also to the wine shop for my weekend wine (Currently A can't drink because of one of his skin creams, which seems odd). After lunch I washed up and did a S&S in the kitchen and also bleached the sink and washing-up pad. I also zoomed around with the vac.Back to the Olympics now (why does everyone say "100%" when they are answering a question in the affirmative?)

Ccl2 I'm sure list writing counts as flying. 😊
Well, the admin still hasn't been done, but I've been to town to pick up my repeat prescription and do my Mr Al shop. All groceries have been put away.
Tomorrow is DB's birthday 🎂 and Monday is DS's DF's birthday 🎂. Cards were written and presents bought a while ago. I've brought down the wrapping paper so that's another step in the right direction.
Now trying to cool down in front of the fan again 🥵

Overcast and faint drizzling all day here, so the WMx3 had to all come back in very damp. Very cross. Daily essentials done, nothing else because it's the weekend and I can't be arrised.Pizza and tiramsu are Mediteranean Diet and therefore healthy, right?Better is good enough.6

Hi all
Today I have been on a Flying Frenzy. Dusted and hoovered through, scrubbed the kitchen floor, got all laundry up to date, polished the shiny bits in the bathroom, sorted recycling, cleaned the kitchen and put some French beans in the freezer.
Felt wobbly, anxious and teary first thing, DH was great, but keeping busy made me feel better.
Been sunny but very windy, good for getting washing dry.8 -
Ouch Kaz hope that heals fast.
Thanks for all your good wishes, Mum liked both care homes and has chosen one. So relieved. She seems to be seeing it as the next step to recovery and I feel she is right. It is a home renowned locally for the activities and social life which should motivate her and she will enjoy. The rooms are more like a bedsit with a little sink, kettle and fridge as well as a seating area . DB, Mr N and I celebrated with an Italian meal.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Very glad that your quest was successful, Narc0, and that your mum is happy to make the move. Definitely a decision to be celebrated
We all had a very mixed day out yesterday. DH’s journey to the war games show took 2 hours longer than expected because of chaotic changes to the train timetables. K insisted that we took Rosie out with us, so I drove her and the girls to a place we have all very much enjoyed on previous visits. However, this time I walked further than was sensible with my already painful knee, the girls decided that all the activities on offer were far too babyish, Rosie would have loved to run free but had to stay on the lead, a nasty insect got into K’s eye and left it blistered and sore, and we all got caught in a short but sharp shower. By the time we got back to this house, the grumpy girls didn’t want to stay for tea, so I packed up half of the mince that I’d already cooked for us all - and then stupidly gave K both cartons by mistake, so DH and I had to cook and eat sausages (admittedly they were good ones!!!). So disasters all round, but at least DH and I enjoyed a quiet evening and some good Olympic athletics.
Flying was limited because of the day out, but I filled the DW and left the kitchen clean and tidy at bedtime.
It’s a sticky night, and here I am, drinking tea in the WAC. Hope everyone else is away in the Land of Nod xxx
