We came back to a huge welcome from Rosie, having had a lovely weekend of partying and watching cows being milked by robots!! Thank you Natty for the new thread - but K cleaned my house all through while she and the girls were dogsitting, so (apart from putting away my suitcase and doing a bit of washing) I'm in maintenance mode this week and will be concentrating on more photo sorting

I've been watching cleaning videos on Facebook. Unfortunately they are not motivating me to fly as my house isn't as bad as theirs in the first place. But I am taking note of the cleaning materials used. I now want sponges with faces on. 😊 Are they good? Or is it phototrickery? 🤔 Does anyone use Nana's Secret or something similar? Any good?

My chest actually feels a bit better today but Squeak has a hospital appointment so I need to conserve energy.. and I have boked Moosebo in at the vet for tomorrow to get his teefs checked.. I don't know if he has a sore mouth or if he has a throat issue.. either way we will get him sorted, he is struggling with eating.

Stardrops makes a big difference, and good microfibre cloths are amazing. Other than that I can't really say anything makes a difference most of the time, although Elbow Grease and the oven cleaner from Kleeneze or Lakeland are very effective. I happen to like J-Cloths for general purpose around the kitchen but only the original J&J ones - copies are rubbish, as are cheap microfibre cloths.Talking of cleaning materials, I dug a metal bottle of Brasso out of the cupboard to polish a couple of Belovéd's candlesticks over the weekend. The price ticket on it was 25p. I suspect it may have come from my mother's house and went into a nursing home in 2003! It didn't smell right, and had separated, but it still made them look a lot better. Anyone here familiar with the Churchill and Miller will know about cleaning brass. I've done hours and hours and hours of it in a past life.
Better is good enough.6 -
When I was in my other job we had some sort of fundraiser and tomato ketchup was involved...they'd bought a HUGE bottle of the 57 variety type and then left it in a cupboard where it went OOD and could not then be offered to the little people. So...it came home with me (I never buy it) so I had 'free' brass cleaner for ages...
I have WUALTD, pegged out washing, sorted laundry and brought some back to to work (washed discloths and a few tea towels) so the kitchen looked slightly less horrific when I left. Let's hope I have the energy to clean up after swimming.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hello all. Thanks for the list.
Today DGD2 was here but I still managed two wash loads which are now dry and need to be put away, all dailies and I scrubbed the kitchen sink.
Will potter in the morning.
I did wordle and connections today. It's rare I get all four lines.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
A productive day.
Ended up doing 3 loads of laundry as DS had a nose bleed all.over his bedding!
Have blitzed the kitchen, including the fridge, tiles and cupboard door fronts. I plan to do the floors after dinner and HHI whilst watching TV.
I have also made a pie for dinner and some jam tarts with the left over pastry. And started a trifle for tomorrow. I feel like a domestic goddess! OK. Not quite. The rest of the house is still a tip but pleased with my achievements nonetheless!Grocery challenge- feb 2015- £133.07/£2506 -
Oh flip. Late again. And behind. And the house is a tip. No change then 😉.
Thank you for the lists, hope you feel better soon, Natty x Thank you, Valli, for last week. I’d like to say that I kept up…
Flying today will be limited to getting food on the table shortly. But only if I get a wiggle on, I guess. Anyone got any guag going?
