Hopefully they’re being dealt with in order. It was your comment that CS could find no record of your closure request that concerns me.1

Digital_Payback said:Virgin Everyday Saver Closure
As I wrote in an earlier post, I filled out the form via the VM website on Friday 1st August to close the old regular saver that morphed into a Virgin Everyday Saver with zero balance, and I requested remaining interest to be transferred to my current account. The account is still open, 7th August, so I called customer service, gave the details as requested and was told it would be actioned in 3 or 4 days.Looking forward to Tuesday next!!!

They did mine this morning, kudos to the team, just need to remember to use the phone next time!
£26.66 with a smidge of trailing interest I guess, £3188.66 total back from the saver (I opened it on 3rd July)
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Trials and tribulations.
Earlier in the week I was advised by Gary on Virgin live chat that the everyday saver could ONLY be closed by visiting a branch (nearest is about 40 miles away) or by written request. Later, on the phone, Uzma advised that I could complete the closure form on the app:
My Profile (top right), Account profile & settings, Close an account: 'Close your current account'
I have just been informed by the complaints team that neither of these methods is correct and it should closed by telephone using a 4-digit PIN.
Anyway, I've now bagged an extra £75 for their lousy and inconsistent advice and my everyday saver is (hopefully) now getting closed down with some residual interest!
My advice - raise a complaint if you want some extra free cash.

My £26.66 has turned up this morning. Online form closure requested 1st August, no other contact needed.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?2

Savings account disappeared from the app! Nothing yet in the destination account (Santander). Just when I was almost resigned to waiting till September. Still waiting for the email saying I can open the RS.0

Just got my interest paid and account closed.
All from the online close account route, no phone calls, I guess they just have too many to process.0
