I have no intention of EVER closing my Everyday Saver account. I'm happy to wait until September for my July interest as I'm in no rush for the approx'  £26. I will then withdraw the money and leave the account to fester forever. If Virgin can't provide a quick & easy way of closure, why bother ? Leave the problem for them to sort out. I've got far more important and interesting things to deal with.
I'd rather have £26 earning me interest than Virgin tbh

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

No. I already had a switch payout from Barclays a year or two back.

I've just had a call from the complaints team. I asked if I could pass on any advice to those waiting and the handler said first of all that the poor communications regarding the suitability of the form would be fed back, and secondly that unfortunately it might be best if people phone in (or visit a branch) to request closure knowing that it will be a 3-5 day turnaround.

    Warning: rant ahead

The T&Cs for the Everyday Saver say ‘Just let us know if you want to close your Everyday Saver account’ no mention of any specific communication method.
Various posters have managed to close the account by using the online Closure Request form, while some have been told this can’t be used for savings accounts.

I started online chat earlier today & after a few exchanges was put through to a human. Human said they couldn’t see my Closure Request form, sent 1 August, in online chat, which is fair enough. No suggestion that that firm was not appropriate.  Also said closure can take up to 5 working days, rather than the 2 mentioned in onscreen message. They offered to message Account Closure team who will apparently contact me if there is any problem. Was that ok? As I was typing my reply, OLB logged me out ‘For Security Reasons’ and the whole chat was lost!

I’m often one who defends VM as for the most part, I’ve had decent service and competitive interest. However, this closure process is unacceptable.
Account closed and £26.62 received in my Lloyds current account. After filling in the closure form I didn't make any further contact with VM.

That's basically my stance. If the form results in closure, then great, if not then it's not worth any further hassle for an estimated 11p compound interest.
Edit: and with that, just checked again and my closure has been processed.

I just called them to sort this out. Not ideal but the lady was very nice and helpful.

Just a shame they make it so difficult

As well as creating completely unnecessary work for themselves that could have been easily avoided if they had a proper maturity process in place.

Made the closure request online 1.8.25, but account still open and no final interest - phoned today, the CSA made no mention of what had happened to my online request, but went through a manual closure, so another 3-5 working days! Not very impressive.

As I have a security token, at least there wasn't any problem withdrawing the full balance after maturity, so there's that, I guess...
I rang today, funnily enough, CSA said the form online doesn't work for savers so did it on the phone with me, very easy if you know your banking PIN and said maybe tomorrow if not Monday as the account closure team don't work at the weekend!
What you were told is total bull S..T over the past two months I have closed three saver accounts using that form and I used it to close this account as well. Granted they take forever to action it but it does work.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
