Another issue I have with the app is that it doesn't auto log out and security seems very poor with no biometrics or additional layers of security.
Under Settings, and Privacy and Security on the app you can change it to require a passcode and/or biometrics. Once this is set, it automatically logs you out of the app each time.

. What I did find odd is that I can't directly link my Chase account with Trading 212 bearing in mind they are essentially both the same bank which is JP Morgan.
I'm not sure that's the case. My T212 Cash ISA funds are split across JP Morgan, Barclays & NatWest. The JP Morgan share is only 16%, with the rest split equally between the other two.
The user will be referring to the fact that the bank account you pay in to at T212 is a JPM account (sort code 60-92-42).

Having massive problems transferring my old Shawbrook ISA into Trading 212. Shawbrook insist the transfer was completed on 14/10/24, but Trading 212 are claiming they haven't received anything. Communication with Trading 212 is a bit of a nightmare and I am getting nowhere. In the meantime my funds (£50K+) are whereabouts unknown. Seriously questioning my decision to go with Trading 212.
Have you logged into T212 and looked on the ISA progress page? What does it say?
Then you need to speak to Shawbrook and find what they sent - was it a cheque? If a transfer, where exactly did they send it to - sort code, account number and reference? Take that info back to T212, although I am aware it's slow to deal with their Customer Services.

I'm sure it will soon turn up, my 2 transfers into T212 from Virgin Money were done in days with no issues.
I've spoken to Shawbrook on multiple occasions and they claim they have never had any communication from Trading 212, or JPM who provide Trading 212's banking services. Things took an unexpected twist yesterday, when my funds were returned to Shawbrook without explanation and are now sitting in an easy access ISA. Not sure what has gone wrong, with Trading 212 claiming their bankers, JPM, had flagged up unspecified "compliance" issues that Shawbrook are totally unaware of. The whole episode has cost me around 20 days lost interest (not insignificant given the sums involved) and totally exasperated with Trading 212's so-called customer service!

I have opened cash ISA's with many providers over the years and carried out transfers between providers.  I have never had as much trouble with a provider as with Trading 212 (this is a cash ISA, I cannot comment on their Trading ISA).  Quite difficult and complicated to open, eventually got funds in but then unable to access my account for several weeks via website or app.  Response from Trading 212 was patchy and none of their solutions worked.  Still unable to access so I now have no option other than to open a cash ISA with another provider and ask them to transfer the money out of Trading 212 to their ISA.  I hope this proves easy but am concerned by some other comments here in this respect.  Needless to say I will not be using Trading 212 again.
I've just opened 2, 1 for me and 1 for hubby & found it very easy via the app. Filled in a transfer form the hubby's existing ISA and transferred funds from my bank to my new ISA. What I did find odd is that I can't directly link my Chase account with Trading 212 bearing in mind they are essentially both the same bank which is JP Morgan. I've got an issue with being able to use Santander app at the moment so had to do a manual transfer instead. This was done on Friday and funds were there by Monday morning.
Another issue I have with the app is that it doesn't auto log out and security seems very poor with no biometrics or additional layers of security.
its because Chase are not a part of "open banking" yet I believe

Chase is part of Open Banking. However, the TPP T212 uses may not have them in their list of banks to choose from.
  • Can Trading 212 be reached by phone? I can't find anything on the w/site and only option is to do live chat - I've been waiting for a human for hours!

No phone. You can email them and you'll probably get a response within 24hrs.

I actually got a very fast response to a message sent via the T212's website 'Contact Us' button.
Message sent at 03:36am & reply received at 07:18am the same morning.
This is probably due to the time difference between UK & which ever country the office picking these messages up is in.
Not ideal time for many but maybe worth a shot if query is urgent, but no promises it wasn't simply luck on my side.

I did however find this WhatsApp phone number +447385762101. It's on the website in the section warning about avoiding scams as they say this is the only number they'd ever call a customer on.
Don't know if it works as not checked them out on WhatsApp but maybe worth a shot if you feel you'd like to talk to someone at T212.

Head Office is in Cyprus, which is 2h ahead so your 7am response is a comfortable 9am response from there, assuming this is also where customer service is based.
