Trading 212 Cash ISA - Impossible to transfer ISA out!

  • The issue is not with Trading212 in particular, it is with the many providers not accepting transfer in requests from Trading212.
  • I have opened cash ISA's with many providers over the years and carried out transfers between providers.  I have never had as much trouble with a provider as with Trading 212 (this is a cash ISA, I cannot comment on their Trading ISA).  Quite difficult and complicated to open, eventually got funds in but then unable to access my account for several weeks via website or app.  Response from Trading 212 was patchy and none of their solutions worked.  Still unable to access so I now have no option other than to open a cash ISA with another provider and ask them to transfer the money out of Trading 212 to their ISA.  I hope this proves easy but am concerned by some other comments here in this respect.  Needless to say I will not be using Trading 212 again.

The OH has made two transfers in from Coventry without issue, pay in is instant and pay out (only did a small test payment) was processed the next working day. Customer service so far was ok, not 5 star but better than service received from many others. Coop bank being the worst, followed by Monmouthshire BS and Plum.

Many here complained in the past about the service from Virgin Money, I never had issues and the branch staff was fabulous with transfer in requests, closing old and opening new accounts.

I hope issues many are having here are resolved but I also think it is important to mention that many don't have issues and seem rather happy with what they've got.

I hope that you can access the online system then as after you have requested the transfer in from new provider, you will need to be able to authorise the transfer out on the Trading 212 platform. Tradng 212 recently changed the log in and some cannot get past 2FA. I've never been asked to authorise a transfer from any losing ISA provider but T212 do this. Good luck.

  • Having massive problems transferring my old Shawbrook ISA into Trading 212. Shawbrook insist the transfer was completed on 14/10/24, but Trading 212 are claiming they haven't received anything. Communication with Trading 212 is a bit of a nightmare and I am getting nowhere. In the meantime my funds (£50K+) are whereabouts unknown. Seriously questioning my decision to go with Trading 212.

Have you logged into T212 and looked on the ISA progress page? What does it say?
Then you need to speak to Shawbrook and find what they sent - was it a cheque? If a transfer, where exactly did they send it to - sort code, account number and reference? Take that info back to T212, although I am aware it's slow to deal with their Customer Services.

I'm sure it will soon turn up, my 2 transfers into T212 from Virgin Money were done in days with no issues.

I think the general theme of this thread was one of problems transferring away from T212 - which was never a T212 issue.

I've just opened 2, 1 for me and 1 for hubby & found it very easy via the app. Filled in a transfer form the hubby's existing ISA and transferred funds from my bank to my new ISA. What I did find odd is that I can't directly link my Chase account with Trading 212 bearing in mind they are essentially both the same bank which is JP Morgan. I've got an issue with being able to use Santander app at the moment so had to do a manual transfer instead. This was done on Friday and funds were there by Monday morning.
Another issue I have with the app is that it doesn't auto log out and security seems very poor with no biometrics or additional layers of security.

I'm not sure that's the case. My T212 Cash ISA funds are split across JP Morgan, Barclays & NatWest. The JP Morgan share is only 16%, with the rest split equally between the other two.
