IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme6 -
Read a couple of chapters of my book while enjoying my coffee.
I'm going to set the WM to give the first load an extra spin, then I'll drape it on the airer and set the second load swishing.

Dog walked in the rain, cut DHs hair and did him a manicure, hoovered through, second wash load in machine, dailies done.
Think I'll try to sort out cupboard of doom again......Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all. I've been properly awake since 8.30, with an hour or two of reading around dawn, but then I got off to sleep again, so I'm feeling almost refreshed. However, breakfast did not land on the table until after 10.00, so I am still not dressed! But so far I have S&S'd the kitchen; PUPA in the LR; checked my finances; decluttered a "Build your own clock kit" which DGS1+2 had kindly passed on to me, except that there were a couple of small pieces missing which can't be replaced; decided that my old (cheap) hiking stick with the pointy end can go to the CS, as I've now shrunk in height so much that I can't use it, even if I wanted to; and had fun changing some of the colours on my spreadsheets - I think I'm becoming a bit obsessive about them! And I got out Aunt Kate's Head (my ancient soft white brush on a long pole) to discourage the spiders and harvesters who have been decorating the upstairs ceilings with webs.
The diary is empty for today, so I've suggested to DH that we go up to the Forest with Rosie for lunch. The ointment which the GP suggested for my knee is at least partially effective, so I hope to be able to do the 1.5km walk, which is fairly level. Rosie will bounce off into the undergrowth on either side, chasing squirrels, and probably end up running 2 or 3 times as far.
Off to get my shower, S&S the bathroom and make my bed. We might get out before midday....
Have a good weekend xxx6 -
Cupboard of doom sorted again. I've brought all the baby stuff forward as we will need it again soon. Unfortunately a box of stuff we don't want (and it appears no one else does either) has gone back in but we've a plan to gradually dispose of it all.
Have also sewn up a little pillow for the dolls pram which has been waiting months. All washing now on airers.
Going to have a snack then get ready to go out. I've been wearing my heels all morning just to check I can still walk in them for later and I can which is good because my granny flats just won't look right with the vintage dress I've chosen to wear.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Slowly whittling down the stuff on the kitchen table - bit more filed, bit more added to shredding.
How's this for forward planning? Today I drew up a new To Do List which includes: complete nomination form for my pensions, make a will, and look at prepaid cremation plans.

Hi all
It's wet, very wet. I have been to my Saturday volunteering, done a bit of paid stuff, called at Li@l, picked up the library book I had ordered and came home for some brunch.
Going to shuffle laundry around and potter. The bathroom needs attention and I really should go for a run later, my exercise habits are slipping a bit.
DS1 is on a stag do in Spain, I really don't want to think about it. I did ask him if he had travel insurance and I didn't really get an answer.6 -
Yes Round, planning cremation is definitely forward planning.
just back from the afternoon tea, going to chill for the evening, it certainly is chilly 🥶Spend less now, work less later.5 -

RxxExcellent forward planning stuff there Round. I'm more impressed by the pension planning and will than the cremation plans but whatever floats your boat.I spent the day digging out tea towels, aprons, tablecloths and napkins and draping them over various bits of kit on the sundeck because they've been stowed away so long they need a jolly good airing. Then spied a tall neighbour who I've been meaning to ask to dislodge the bundles of apples on the tree so they can be whittled down to two per bunch and after he'd done that I chopped the thinnings up in the food processor so they can be composted. Also scrubbed the front steps where the baby seagulls we're nurturing while they learn to fly had crapped. All sparkly now.
Better is good enough.6 -
Morning all,
It’s blue skies all the way here atm. Am hoping it lasts the day, although blue sky always seems to mean no fly, for me anyway.
I meant to post yesterday but time ran away with me. Outdoor flying at the allotment in the morning, then DD and I went to a new-to-me fabric shop in big town. Oh my, that’s an Aladdin's cave that I should never have been shown. Wool as well. Rounded off the day with dinner out, just the 3 of us, which was lovely.
So today I have a list. Started with my weigh in - still taking up the flak for Round by gaining 4lb this last week. Allotment again this morning for some bend and stretch weeding. Then I really must sort out DD’s car insurance this afternoon. Hateful job. Dinner plans include yesterday’s dug potatoes and picked chard and mange tout. It’s a start of a meal plan. DD has requested that I bake bread, not sure that will happen today.
Onwards and upwards, I had better get dressed and crack on. Have a lovely day all x6
