Hello all. Thanks for birthday wishes.
Today I've done a work shift, dailies, walked Poppet, checked banking and hoovered through. The hoover is now behaving itself. Finally all of Tuesdays washing is dry as it hasn't rained yet today.
Just having lunch then I'll s&s toilet and bathroom.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Oops so sorry, happy belated birthday Jazee. Hope you had a lovely day yesterday 😊
Fayolle, welcome back and hope your DD is starting to improve now. Hugs to you, Mr Fayolle and DD.
Welcome back Slinky, good to have you back.
And lovely to see you pop a post up Piggers..hope you aren't feeling so overwhelmed still.
Not sure where my days are going, they are passing too quickly since moving. And I can't say I'm doing anything more, heck I'm not even doing much just pottering now and again.. I'm occasionally flying in the house but still haven't done all the unpacking..lol Thank gods it's a lonnnnng work in progress - a box a week 😋
I keep meaning to post more often but before I know it time has passed.

Six is great fun and the sting is in the tail - thank goodness. I hope you enjoy it. The other piece of theatre I've seen this year that I loved was Dear England. I'm not into footie at all but Dear England isn't really about football, it's about living with the threat of being exposed as a failure. It's completely wonderful. We saw it as an NT Live so it might still be available. I wish I'd seen the original production on stage. The guy playing Harry Kane was a joy to watch. Particularly appropriate for this weekend with the final coming up on Sunday so my fingers are crossed for Gareth Southgate and the team because of that play. Not so much that I'll actually watch it, but *posivibes* for them all.Today has been less about dusting-type Flying and more about planning for this thing I'm gearing up for in September. Part of it is a champagne cream tea for 22 (at the moment, there may be more) and now that I have failsafe recipes for fruit cake, madelaines, brownies and scones I'd like all the food to be homemade. A friend asked if she could bring anything so I've cracked and asked her to help on the day because I could get all my timings wrong and fall to pieces. Actually admitting things would be better if I asked for help before I need it is a big step forward. Maybe in future I can learn to ask rather than someone have to offer first.I made a Spanish omelette type thing with some left over chips from the chippie last Friday to declutter them from the fridge. Scrumptious. The last time I looked decluttering was Flying, so maybe I have done some today.Round, I meant to tell you, because you mention Wordle and Connections so frequently I decided I should have a shot at them in the mornings too and I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying them. Thank you.Cloth of Gold, I hope you're okay. (((Hugs))) Narco. I'm glad you got home safely. More *healing vibes* for Miss Fayolle.Better is good enough.6

Hi all
Love to Fayolle and family. I am here, I have a big work event this weekend which has taken over my life a bit. Normality will return next week.
Some Flying needs to happen but things are reasonably under control.6 -
Thank you for all your well wishes for DD. She needs them all, but now she is trying to look forward, for which I am immensely proud of her. Whoops, did that grammar work? You know what I meant.
Flying has been achieved today. Ta da! Wm x 1 was run first thing, HHI this evening, dinner cooked, kitchen tidied. A big step forward.
I still have to wordle and connect. I find that I can only connect on days when Round can’t , so I am hopeful for today’s. And I am behind with GBSB, so I might see if I can catch up with an episode or at part of one.
More hugs for Narc0 from me x5 -
Thanks for all the hugs, much appreciated. Just had an update from DB, a physio spent an hour with Mum today and was very thorough, wants her more stable before he considers her ready to go home which is somewhat of a relief as last time the discharge was too soon and handled badly. He also noted the anxiety and that will be addressed. Although DB had managed to give me more 'medical' details which I wanted, it does sound a bit upsetting although it is me who always wants the medical bits; however DB's impression was that she showed improvement since yesterday.
- finished and emailed a report
- spent ages and got very stressed at the uni pension company's incompetence; this has been going on for over a year. I won't bore you with more details but they appear not to understand 2 key facts a) it is now 2024 and not 2019 b) my age of 66 does actually fall between their criteria of 55-75. See, it's not that hard is it?
- did some gardening
- cooked dinner using my utensils and my cooker in my bright kitchen! Nice to be home.
- liaised about doing flowers/cleaning in church on my way home from swimming tomorrow. Liaised about meeting swim buddy.
- wrote shopping list for tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Morning all. Hope you're doing okay. I'm struggling to move here, not any physical problem, I just CBA.
Maybe I'll have a go at wordle and connections, maybe just one as even I can only procrastinate for so long.
Today, I need to do dailies, walk Poppet and potter before going out later with DH for afternoon tea.
Have a great day everyone
Edit to add got wordle in five. Moving now!Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
I'm up, made my bed, completed Wordle and Connections, and supped my first brew.
Glad to hear that you're enjoying Wordle and Connections HB. They're part of my morning routine now. I got Wordle in 3 this morning. And completed Connections very quickly without using any lives. Good luck Fayolle - if we're being ying and yang you'll struggle today. Don't think you will though.Tweezy 😉
This morning I've started to reread my Bible- so a couple of chapters of Genesis read, followed by reading July 13th in Simple Abundance (which I call my pink bible), and the introduction to Tiny Habits. Recreational reading will be for later in the day. I aim to evolve not revolve. Wish me luck 😊
