Maywe've stayed in a pyramid room
had no probs at all, and it's not directly above the casino, more above the 'arcade / cinema' part - didn't get any noise really
thought i had a photo of the view from our room (inside and outside) but must be on the camcorder instead
like others have said, if you get it for a good price, you're laughingpretty certain we paid £30'ish a night and if you look at that from an 'england' perspective, it wee'd all over a travelodge in my opinion

Hi
We're due back in Vegas on Christmas Eve after our ski trip to Colorado. Its just occurred to me that we would like somewhere nice to eat on Christmas Day - does anyone have any recommendations, or has anyone else who has spent Xmas Day in Vegas any thoughts or advice, bearing in mind we will have a 10yo with us too?
Many thanks!

It would cost me $40 dollars more in total to stay in the Venetian the Friday & Sat night than it would the MGM. So I could end up with 2 nights in Bills, 2 in the Venetian & 3 in the MGM.
Is 3 hotels too much for 1 week? Would you take advantage of the Venetian offer for the 2 nights?
It may be the 1 and only time we go to Vegas so I think the Venetian would be a great place to stay - what do you think?
David
I don't think 3 hotels in a week is too much and it feels like a different holiday each time you move.
In November wWe stayed at the IP for 3 nights, the Bellagio for 1 night and PH for 3 nights and it was fine. Not sure I'd want to fully unpack for less than 3 nights though.
In April/May we are staying 3 nights at the IP, 4 nights at the MGM, 3 nights back at the IP and 2 nights at the Palazzo.
I would ask for a late check out from the hotels you are leaving as they usually give you an hour free of charge and you can check out at 12 instead of 11. That gives you a better chance of being able to get a room ready when you check into the next hotel.0 -
Hello all,
A couple of months till me and my partner go now (June 5th)
We're just sitting here looking at getting a show in while we're both there and always fancied seeing Phantom of the Opera (or as it's called - Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular)
Just would like some help on where some decent seats are and to try get some good prices.
It seems the Orchestra seats are pretty good, especially taking up the front balcony. But all advise is welcome!!0 -
MayWe had the front row balcony seats at Phantom and they were good.
Hubby thoroughly enjoyed the show. However I slept through it due to jetlag.0 -

Our previous two trips have just been booked through expedia and I have just paid the 'going rate'. Its not until I came on this message board that I even realized that these offers were available.
I was wondering when and were is it best to book? Is it best to book now or wait a week before we want to go? Or is it best to wait until some offers get posted on here which include Feb 2009??
We are looking to fly from Manchester and direct, We don't want to change!
We are looking staying at a highest class hotel we can afford(we have stayed at Luxor and Signature at MGM). Our total budget will be about £1500 for hotel & Flights for both of us.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
if has to be direct from Manchester you are limited to BMI and Thomas cook. i would start making checks on the BMI site as regular as possible from now , being so far out and in Feb you stand a great chance of bagging a good fare. if you see anything in £ 300 - 350 area , book it, you are unlikely to find anything a lot cheaper. we went with BMI in DEC just gone. i was keeping tabs on the prices for weeks and they were always above £500 then one Monday they dropped to £300 . we booked the next day on the Tuesday and the prices were back upto £500 a seat the very next day (Wednesday) . unless they change they currently only fly Thursdays and Sundays in Feb
Thomas cook get cheaper the nearer the are to departure ( they did not fly this Feb so no ball park figure on what they could drop to ) but remember that extremely stingy 15kg baggage allowance. again unless they change it will Wednesday only for next Feb.
as for hotels as i always say book anything you like the look you see , and as long as it is not a NO REFUND offer , you can cancel for 100% refund upto 72 hours before your stay , get them to price match with any better price you find for your nights and they only take your 1st nights rate as deposit. i always try to make no refund offer clear on this board , as does Fatwallet and Las Vegas Promotions ect, but always read the T&C to be sure , it will clearly say NO REFUND on there and is nearly always on the 1st page of the offer, plus it only seems to be MGM properties that do this type of booking.
as for the offers take a look at ll the links posted on post #1 . all the links posted here are collected from these sites or my emailed offers.Hello all,

i have already answered this question , back in post #857 . we found the Orchestra seats to be very good ( espically at half price )bigfoot125 wrote: »having read through a few pages here would i be right in thinking that the best hotel to stay at is THE Luxor, thinking of going in July with OH and my kids.
cheers
i sure don't think it is THE BEST HOTEL to stay at , but it would rank well for a good room at a good price , it's location is the very south of the strip and it does feel a little dated in places.
where is the best hotel ?? you could go on trip advisor ratings or prices per night . but you will never get a list everybody agrees to .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Just got back this morning from Vegas, 2nd visit but did loads more this time. Stopped at the IP and despite the reviews it was fine, got pool view rooms (thanks to checking out the reviews first) and they where great, clean and tidy and quiet at night, location would be hard to beat at the price, the first rooms they gave us where strip views and although great in the day are VERY noisy at night due to the open air nightclub/bar that goes on to till 3+am, so request pool view if poss (got awarded with 5 free buffets as an apology and again despite the reviews it was fine with decent quality and a good choice).
The "dealertainers" are brilliant and very chatty, got chatted up by "Christine Aguilera" :-) one night as it turns out she stopped not far from my home a couple of years back, had a fairly decent (for my standards) roulette win that night/early morning, quadrupled my initial stake :-)
Paddys day or as they call its, Pattys day was something else, 9 Fine Irishman Bar in NewYork NewYork is good at the best of times but was rocking monday. The new Palazzo is something else, stunning and suites start at $200!!!!!
By far the best part was the Grand Canyon helicopter tour and landing, did a similar one to pinkpinkfizz which included landing for champers and a snack, one thing i did notice was the prices when booking over there tend to be dearer than when booking over here, Papillon worked out about $50 a head dearer booked thru the hotel but worth every cent, not to be missed, have attached a couple of snaps but they dont do it justice, the cliff you can see is over a mile high at that point, it really is vast going from 1/2 to 18 miles wide in places!!
Did some shopping also in the outlet centre south of the strip, got the duece, my 2 mates couldnt get over the prices and spent around $500 dollars, best bargain being Adidas trainers at $15 a pair.
For speed i would recommend the monorail as the strip gets very busy late afternoon and took twice as long on the bus coming back as it did going, get a 10 ride/3 day pass and look out for $9.99 vouchers in the fun books.
Casino Royale still do $1 Michelobs and if you speak/tip nicely to the barman you can also get premium bottles for $1.50 instead of $3.50 everyone else was getting charged :-) O'Sheas is worth a few hours saw a great band in there early on on Paddys day and 16oz draft was $2.
We had a mad time and now need a week to recover, already looking at planning our next visit..................
1, dad, me and my son
2, motley crew
3, just landed
4, mile high canyon side0 -

We saw the Beatles tribute show last year, thought it was excellent. Went to an afternoon show after getting cheap tickets from the office by the Coca Cola bottle (near MGM). Great value, also one of the lads is actually from Liverpool.0
