SeptemberGarbage.
Im at the Luxor as we speak, its at the tail end of the strip but there is a monorail and excellent bus service. As it happens i walked from here to Planet Hollywood last night and it took maybe 25 mins.
I am in the basic room and have to say it is spot on. Much better than the Monte Carlo and New York York.
You say garbage, but it is all down to peoples expectations/standards. Everybody will always disagree on whether or not a hotel is good or bad.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -

I'm glad you're enjoying it.. have a drink in the Aurora bar for me:beer:
I didn't see a basic pyramid room but the candid pics on tripadvisor put me off, now I've seen the place in the flesh I'd definitely re-book a tower room If I was to stay again... I just don't lke the layout wih the rooms overlooking the casino.
BTW, I wouldn't really call the bus service excellent, it can take 30mins to cross the Tropicana junction... it's quicker to walk0 -
im not a gambler at all but this is my 3rd trip to the us 1st time Florida took the kids then went again just me and the wife the only thing that put us off las Vegas was the flight time but reading all the post and what ive read elsewhere i think las Vegas is just an adults playground with so much to do and see u dont have to be a gambler im still gonna try as more to say ive done it we go june the 4th 2 weeks mgm and to say we are excited is an understatement and with so much great info in this post i already know we will go back time and again just to try the different hotel s :beer:in different parts of the stripALL THE TIME - I also seem to get people saying
"its not for me I'm not much of a gambler"
some people just cant see past the gambling and see everything else it has to offer.
we are looking to go back in August time, didnt get to see the Beatles tribute show at Planet Hollywood last time so thats on the to do list, has anyone else seen it/was it any good?
how do I post pictures please anyone?0 -

unless things have changed in 12mths, the pyramid rooms do not overlook the casino, they overlook the atrium level (imax, la salsa bar etc)
we stayed on the 20th floor and the view down to this level was cool (probably not so cool if you're scared of heights though)
the rooms were great too0 -
Has anyone got any good deals for a trip to Vegas in November, leaving from Gatwick for 3 or 4 nights for 2 lads, either hotels, flights or packages??

Hello all,
We went to Las Vegas in June and loved it (including our DD7) we stayed in THE Hotel and thought the location was fine.
I know a few think Las Vegas is unsuitable for kids and while we didnt see many while we were there we were never short of family friendly things to do like the Shark Reef, Secret Garden, Gondelas, Adventure Dome, Stratosphere Tower etc. My daughter now says her money box is her savings for Vegas!
We are hoping to go next May from Manchester to Vegas for 7 nights then to Orlando for 14 and back to Manchester.
I was wondering when is the soonest I can start to look for flights and hotels0 -

it is 11 months out. i cannot remember the exact number of days , but if you type in something outside it websites usually have a pop up that tells you ( it's 3?? something days ) . it is a good idea to look into the flights as far in advance as possibleHas anyone got any good deals for a trip to Vegas in November, leaving from Gatwick for 3 or 4 nights for 2 lads, either hotels, flights or packages??
guys with the distance your flying anything less than a week is a waste of a airfare IMO .
good news is november is a cheaper month to go.
we don't look for packages as a rule as booking seperate always seems to come out cheaper, plus there are so many companys operating packages . also indirect fares are far too numerous with so many variables to have a good idea of whats a good price for your dates .
see what you can get for a money and miles fare with Virgin ( the only direct carrier out of gatwick) if you can get it for around £350 snap it up( you are very unlikely to see better with Virgin at least ) . see post #5 ( i think) for the money and miles method with Virgin Atlantic . you must include a saturday night , but try flying on weekday for a better fare. i can see plenty of £350 ( not taking account the purchase of the miles ) in Novemeber by tapping in a few random November dates . please be aware the T&c state you need previous earning activity on your account to buy this type of fare , but MSE members have never had a problem in the past , when having none.
the thing to remember is don't fret about your hotel/ casino yet, the offers for November are not about yet, but they will come and regular checkin of the websites in post #1 ( with a certain amount of flexiablity about which great casino to stay at ) will see you get as good a price as you can get. 12 weeks is genereally when they start appearing but you might find a diamond in the rough from now onwards.
sort your flight thats the hard bit , the hotels are easy.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I have a Virgin flight in November for £344.00 on miles plus money...or without the miles points there are fares around £4500 -
SeptemberHey trets, photome, ferf (and everyone). I see this is now sticky.... Good news.
It's been 6 months since my last trip to Vegas and I'm getting the bug again. OH says we can't afford it and I know he's right, but I really want to go! Hoping to work on him to go next year. Probably shouldn't even read this thread as a "too good to miss" bargain might come along :whistle:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
