Hi guys,
We have decided to cancel our July trip to Vegas as we think it would be far too warm us. The direct flight Glasgow enticed us but we have come to our senses (I think!!)
We have just booked our flights from Manchester departing on April 9th. We will be staying for 1 week & now require hotel(s). I have looked at some of the Mirage deals over the last few days but some other don't seem to kick in for a few days yet. I have just seen this one for the MGM on the FATWALLET site:
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=mkt109&kbid=27920
It would cost us $1071 to stay for the 7 nights. Can I please have you thought on this in terms of location & value. Also, Bon Jovi are playing the MGM on 12th April & we're going so this was another reason I looked at the MGM.
I'm open to anything really so if anyone has seen a good offer please let me know. Only 3 weeks to we go so I want to get something booked asap.
Thanks!!0 -

you need to weight it up against all the offers about. it is impossible to know whats a really good price for a specfic week , because the prices fluctuate so much. there might be a big sporting event on that week or a convention ect so that week might be 50% more expensive than the week after ect.
but at least you know your there or there abouts in terms of getting the best possible deal . just do as much homework as possible and check out as many offers as you can with links in post#1.
MGM Grand has a very good location and is the proably the biggest overall Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . make no mistake it is HUGE !!! so take some good walking shoes if you stay there. stories of a 15 min walk from room to strip are common. i know a few others have stayed there, so i will let them comment on the rooms 1st hand , but the generally it gets good reviews all round in terms of rooms . it is very lively place , with loads and loads to see and do.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Thanks Trets.
It says that the MGM offer is available to all in the link. If so how come I can't find it on the MGM site? I've never actually used these links to book a deal as yet so sorry if I sound stupid!
I think the MGM deal is good value based on the prices I've seen over the last few days. I was going towards until the Mirage until this deal was posted. Also, I went to book the Travelodge at Manchester Airport for the night before & the price has jumped from £29-£66.
Honestly my timing is so poor sometimes0 -

these offers are emailed out to people on their email lists ect. you won't find them on the website as why offer people casualy, browsing great deals if they don't know about them and will pay a higher price ? offers on Fatwallet are list deals , so basically open to everyone , though some mention a players club card. read the FAQ on Fatwallet page 1 http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/travel-deals/704925/ about half way down for a good summary of what to do if you don't have one, it never seems to cause problems .beside which even if this one was a players club offer , you can join for free here anyway https://www.playersclub.com/
this 1st page of Fatwallet also contains a rundown of current deals and some good FAQ's on these type of offers.
it's a good idea to join as many players clubs as you can while there , most give freebies just for signing up . Harrahs Group ( which includes Caesars, Ballys , Flamingo , ect ), offers some good coupons on buffets and shows for example.
also the rooms probably come from different departments . with over 5000 rooms the MGM has a lot to go around , some are allocated to travel agents , some to corporate clients , ect ect. there is not just one department. empty rooms are not earning money so they have ways of tempting people in without making the deals widely known.
also don't rule out moving if you find great prices for different days at 2 different hotels. we stayed at Mirage and THE HOTEL last time for 4 and then 3 nights. it is dead easy to move , espically if you are hiring a car. you can leave your cases with the Valets if your room is not yet available .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
We have looked at most options now & I'm glad you said it's easy to move from hotel to hotel.
We have decided to stay at Bill's for 2 nights & the MGM for the remaining 5 nights. Bill's has excellent reviews & it has a great location, plus it's only $130 for 2 nights :T
We're eally looking forward to it - thanks you for your help.
All I need to do now is sort the train tickets from Glasgow-Manchester & 1 night at a hotel either in or near the airport.
Thanks again!!0
