Wow, just found my dates at the IP for $45 / $49 a night = £30!!!!

Has anyone stayed here and can tell me what its like?

    Does it have a pool?

Will the "deluxe" rooms likely have a strip view?

(Paris for the same nights is $170 / $200 dollars!!!!!)

In general and barring big holidays, conventions, sporting events - Vegas room rates are some of the best value for money in the US and will put anything in Europe to shame.

You will be astounded what $60 will get your at Paris through that LCI deal...you will talk about it for years...you will tell all your friends, etc. I don't think I'm exaggerating...I don't think that I'm wrong in saying even in the UK you would struggle to get that sort of room for even £60 (yes pounds) per PERSON per night...let alone $60 (note dollars) per ROOM per night. Not yelling at you, just stressing that this really is a very, very good deal.

You will not be so pleased in terms of value for money with CC, IP, Strat, etc...the difference in price is minimal compared to the value of the hotel...you may be quite happy at those places depending on what you are used to - they'll be better than the same star rating in Europe at least...but the price difference is so small and the accomodation is so different as to make it a false economy to go for CC, IP, Strat and the like.

    IMHO.

    :)

Totally agree this is on the same level as the $99 rooms at Wynn last year

I last stayed there in 2002 I would not stay there again, it has a good location but we found the casino very smoky and you have to cross it to get to the lifts which are the slowest in the world. We had a love tub room whihc was big but we had to get the maid in toclean the bath as it was filthy, the corridors were tired then and we saw room servcie food left out for over 24 hours. I woudl never stay there again people say "oh its only somwhere to sleep" but its really nasty when you know you are not happy about where you are going back to and have seen all these lovely hotels and yuo go back to a place like this.

Not sure I totally agree with CC being a dump, the public areas are a bit grubby but the main tower rooms are fine especially for the $30 I paid last year, but for an extra $30 I would be at the Paris...EVERYTIME.

To be fair I have not stayed there since 2000 and we had a "motor lodge room" it was yukky and stunk of chip fat we complained butit was Labour day so they coudl offer us nothing else so we went and stayed in a Motel 6 instead and then checked in to Luxor the next day. Last year we popped in and the casino was as bad as ever and we swore we would never go back.

I stayed there about 10 years ago and havent been back whereas I have been back to most other places I have stayed.

It has 2 things going for it

    Price and location.

The pool is in shade most of day and is horrible.

Difficult to get a strip view I think as it is set back and smaller than those around it.

See you are not going till may, plenty of time to find a deal at a better hotel

Plus...it smells funny...and not just of smoke...I smoke...I don't notice smells in most casinos but IP smells funny. :)

I have never stayed there, but friends did several years ago...they saw our room at Excalibur and proclaimed it to be vastly superior. We are perfectly happy at Excalibur, but it says a lot when people rate it so much higher than another hotel I think.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I've stayed at the IP every year since 2005, so more recent than most on here.

You can see the deluxe rooms on their website, they are decorated in cream and beige. I would say they are on a par with Travelodge rooms, basic and nothing fancy. None of the rooms has a safe which may be a concern to some and I agree that the casino does smell "funny" sometimes.

I certainly wouldn't want a strip view room at the IP as these face Carnival Court which has loud live music until 2 or 3 am every night.

There are far, far better hotels in Vegas, but if prices are high elsewhere and you are on a limited budget then the IP may be an option.

You can read my reviews of the IP HERE

Just for the record, we have stayed at the Bellagio, Palazzo, Caesars Palace, Venetian, MGM and Planet Hollywood so we do know the difference in quality, but staying at the IP for part of our stay has helped us afford to stay at the high end places.

Their cancellation policy is on the confirmation email you should have received. If you cancel 72 hours or more before arrival they will refund the deposit to your credit card.

I dont think I will be getting a card, unless stoneman has to show his. It would be a day trip for me just to get one.
It's a 380 mile round trip for us, but as we will be flying from Glasgow we are going to pick one up then.

Please done be ringing LCI or vegas pointing out you/we havent got one..I am sure you wont be doing that tho;)

I'm not completely stupid. I called to check that they would be open on Boxing Day and at what time. Just as well I did as it saved a wasted journey as I had intended going in the afternoon and they don't open until 6pm.
