Thanks for all your replies regarding a show to see in Vegas - I've had a look at Zumanity and think we might opt for that one!

Just a week to go now and am very excited!

I'm planning on tipping $50 at check-in in the chance of an upgrade, I've read on the frontdesktip website that its best to ask for a specific room and wondered if anyone could make any suggestions as to what to ask for in Caesars Palace.

From what I've read an 'Augustus Tower' room seems the most popular option but would appreciate any other feedback.

I've also got to ask them to merge two bookings together at check-in (staying for 9 nights but had to book in two lots as I booked through a deal that had a max. stay of 7 nights) is it advisable to tip a bit more in this instance?

    Thanks!

What kind of room do you have booked?

Augustus is probably the best case scenario. We didn't make it to Augustus but did make it to Palace Tower which was very nice and the room was huge (and looked exactly like the photos available online at tripadvisor.com, etc)...but in retrospect, may have preferred to have stayed with what we had booked (Forum Tower Deluxe) as they had just been renovated (the Palace Tower room, especially the bathroom, was showing quite a bit of wear) and in the end, where we ended up most of the time was much closer to the Forum Tower rooms so would have been more convenient.

FWIW, we asked if any complimentary upgrades were available without trying the $20 as such...after being upgraded we did tip her $20 though...it was 10am or something silly so would have been happy enough just getting into any room and the upgrade was a nice bonus.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

May be difficult whatever tip you offer as 9 nights is a long time to tie up a better room

It is on a roof, but only about 4 floors up and you wouldnt know you were on a roof as you are surrounded by the hotel and the eiffel tower. How is she going to get on if she is allocated a high floor in the hotel. I was on floor 32 in the Pallazzo and that def took my breath away when looking out of the window. AAAARRRRRHHHHHHH this page size is doing my Head in

We are staying in a classic forum room booked through the $95 promotion they had a couple of months back.

I did thank that with 9 days we might stand less of a chance but I will still give it a shot.

We stayed in one of the Forum rooms in June and they are very nice. The bathrooms are marble and the actual bedroom is quite a size and are also very comfortable.
We were gonna go for an upgrade but didn't feel the need when we walked in our room.

As for a show I would highly recommend the Phantom of the Opera show or go and see George Wallace at 10pm at the Flamingo - he's fantastic. :T

Staying 9 nights is pushing it but it depends when you are going, if its in the next week or so then you will have a pretty good chance if its over new year no way
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

We're actually travelling next week just after the rodeo leaves town so hopefully it won't be as busy then. I'm going to give it a try and see what happens!
