Mayfor Ballys, search on the posts made by ferf, she is a fountain of Bally knowledge

re: flights, who knows, it's worth a look - depends, are you looking at Virgin direct? In which case October flights in the Jan sales have been known to occur, other than virgin, i'm not sure how other 'sales' line up. Best advice normally given on this thread is have a look at how much they are now and if you are happy with the price, book it0 -
MayIf it were me I would absolutely get the card - better to have it than not. I would be surprised if they ask for it at check-in (I would be surprised if the check-in agents will even know you're on an LCI rate, really) but better safe than sorry. I would think that relatively few people will use these rates as I don't think it's all that well known...but ultimately they could ask for the card so better to have it.
I have had a look and the casino isn't too far from where we are staying so the plan is to go and get the card, then I can relax.
I called the casino to make sure they were open and it was just as well as they don't open until 6pm on Boxing Day which contradicts their website.
I was also concerned that I keep getting HTTP 404, Page Cannot Be Displayed errors on many links on the LCI website.0 -
MarchAnyone stayed in Bally? Looking like a good deal to me.
Anyone know what the Vegas weather will be like in May?
As NVH said I'm a big fan of Bally's. The North Tower rooms are much nicer than the South Tower - usually $30 more a night...but we've always managed to get upgraded to the North Tower. The rooms are quite large (450+sqft) which for us, for a week or more, is a very nice thing.
it's a great location with so much within a short walk...connected to Paris makes it quite nice - like 2-for-1. We don't usually eat at Bally's though there are several options there...but we do eat at Paris quite a lot if we want to stay close to 'home'.
There is no theme at Bally's which is a downside for some...similarly the casino is not very 'buzzy' most times...which again, some dislike...we like it as it's a bit of an oasis compared to a lot of casinos on the strip that can be pretty manic (Harrahs and Rio come to mind - it always seems just so everything in there)...we like to wind down at the end of the day and it's perfect for us.
All that said, we're late 30s, not big into anything like a club scene or anything like that (the thought of going into a club would make us run away very fast)...the pool is a basic rectangle with lots of lounger chairs...not very busy most times that we've been...but it's not anything like a lot of the other pools - it is pretty basic. It DOES have a deep end which most do not.
For the young and/or hip it may seem a bit lame, but for us (who are pretty lame) it's perfect...it's good value for money for anyone, but may not be the best place for some.
May weather averages by day of the month are here:

Temps vary pretty dramatically from the beginning of the month to the end of the month.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Their website for the Empire in London still says they have 101 slots too...that changed with the new law last year (September, I think)...they have 20.
So their websites are clearly not regularly updated.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Thanks Ferf.
Have actually just found Circus Circus for £35 / £38 all in on a night in the week.
Bally's on the LCI deal was $69 a night (£46) but then taxes and fees plus having to get the card too. Might have to stay at CC in the interests of money saving....
We have bee into a friends room in CC when they stayed and it seemed nice, anyone got any horror stories?0 -
MayI don't know your dates, but the Imperial Palace had rates of $49 weekdays and $89 weekends in their Hot Deals which would be £36 inc tax and in a far better location.0

Morph3us; Where was the Circus Circus deal please? Wondering if an alternate solution is to go somewhere else, although like Luci, thinking of just booking the Paris( will this be nice for us and a 19/23 year old?) and going to Leeds between now and next July with hubby and just getting joined up.0

If your staying at CC i would make sure they upgrade you to the big tower at the back as they are the newest rooms. The other bits are a tad grubby when i stayed in Oct.
When are you staying as they always seem to have 3 for 2s. I think i got 7 nights for $190 sunday to sunday0 -

I wouldn't stay at CC...I hate the place with a passion and the location is terrible...but hey.For me, £12 or so difference would be well spent if only for the location.
A little bit more to stay somewhere else would be a good choice IMHO. Check the Hot Deals (open to the public) at Bally's (or even IP as Luci suggested) as well if the LCI doesn't work for you.

Whatever you do book something refundable if your dates are aways out...it's entirely possible rates elsewhere (and even at CC) may come down for those booking quite some time in the future.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I would prefer somewhere nice and don't mind paying a bit more,$60 per room is very reasonable to me, as when we get to San Fransisco everything there looks really expensive! I am happy to take your advice. We arrive in Phoenix on 2 July so want to stay in the Grand Canyon area before getting to LV so maybe 5/6 July- showing on LCI at $60.00 per room. I think these rooms were refundable through LCI? Sorry what is IP?0
