Hi there
I signed up for a FlexAccount to load my spending money on for Vegas next week! Only trouble is, I've been sent a lousy cash card instead of a debit card. I've e-mailed Nationide and they've said I have to go into a branch to upgrade and will take 10 working days to come through!!
I assume I can just use this card to make withdrawals abroad, it is still fee free but wondered what exchange rate would be used (its a cirrus card and not Visa), I've searched high and low on their website and all it seems to say is that the Visa exchange rate will be used, somehow this doesn't seem right, does anyone have any experience of this?
I signed up to a prepaid card in the meantime but their exchange rates seem really bad at the moment and I'm really stuck with how to arrange my currency now
Also, I was wondering if I could use this 'cash card' to make purchases abroad, it's not chip and pin but the last time I was there I don't think they had the technology anyway!
Thanks0 -

The exchange rate is still the same as with the NW debit card. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
MayArrrgh! I have booked 4 nights at Paris in April and have now decided to book the 3 nights before that making it 7 nights.
Would I be better making a new booking for the 3 nights and asking them to link the bookings at check in? Or would I be better cancelling the existing booking and making a new one for 7 nights?
I am leaning towards cancelling the existing booking, but I'm worried that it may not let me book the same dates again, stating that I already have a booking, albeit cancelled.
Would appreciate any advice.0 -

MayThanks for that. Sounds like phoning them may be a plan as I don't want to risk losing what I have at the moment.0

I would cancel the original booking online and then rebook imediately, which is exactly what I did last night.
No need to worry about booking the same dates again, I have done it many times. if the original nights are cancelled it is fine and you do get an instant cancellation reference when cancelling online0 -
I am in vegas 27th mar to 6th april. I think that is earlier than most on here0
