    Im about to book my car hire for next month, and dollar.co.uk is less than carehire3000 uscarhire and netflights, who all do a dollar rental.

    So, is....
    * LDW (Loss Damage Waiver).
    * SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance).
    * UMP (Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Protection).
    ......everything I need and is it the same as the above companies offer on the dllar rentals? I always get confused whenever I hire over there as to whats included and whats not. For a start it doesnt say CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) but surely thats included on an all inclusive rental?

    I assume you'll be leaving on or before the 8th of January? That's the day 2 conventions with a total of nearly 200,000 attendees will arrive...the big one (CES, may be the biggest of the year) makes Vegas pretty hideous in terms of restaurants, anything with a queue, etc.
    You omited to say what the OTHER convention is ;);):D
    You either want to go on the 1st. and leave by the 8th. or wait till after the 11th to make your trip. As ferf says, it's a geeks nightmare and hotel prices can more than double
    The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • regarding car hire, we are now looking at driving up from LA to Vegas on our trip next may/june as the quoted cost for flights, and the missus' fear of the airline losing her wedding dress have meant that we are considering to drive to vegas.

    So far an online quote from hertz works out at £107, picking the car up at 10am from lax and returning to their vegas office at 5pm that night, we obviously pay a premium for returning the car to a different location.

    I noticed on one site (which i cant for the life of me remeber) had the option to drop the car off at the luxor, which is where we are staying.
    So does ayone know what car rental agencies have offices at/near the luxor which would be ideal for us, and does £100 seem reasonable for hiring and dropping the car off at a different office?

    If it is in a different state then its an amazing price and if it suits your travel plans you'd be advised to snap their arm off. If its a case of picking up at say Mcarren and dropping at the MGM then you are being done from behind.

    EDIT: I just looked and you say its LAX to LAS - most hire companies charge $500 so £100 is very very very good.

    Unless very recently they have changed it you will find Dollar have a $500 one way charge. The only state this is not applicable in is Ca.
